A childhood friend of my brother and i( like i've known since i was 5 and my first kiss friend) just got back from Iraq a few months ago and spent the last three months in the hospital because half his body got burnt and blew off a leg. I just found this out tonight. My dad called me to tell me because he ran into him a few days ago. War angers me, very much. any of you got family or friends over there getting there bodies blown apart?
I do feel sorry for him i really do and it saddens me, but i am angry at him too. He signed up for this crap. He was always a "lets play war" kind of kid. Now half his body is gone and they think he has PTSD, and he is only 25
thanks colenzo.... i only wish i could see him and give him a hug... but he is in washington... man i pitty him
i'm sorry to hear about that. i have friends getting shipped out soon and some who are already there. one of my rook sister's is a medic and shes getting sent over to iraq after being in kuwait for a few weeks. she left school 2 weeks ago
i am so sorry to hear that. a friend from work's hubby was there and lost his hearing and sight on one side from being too close to a blast.
that sucks -- all those 'kids' having their lives ruined, severely altered, or, at worst, ended, for what? The injured soldiers that are interviewed always seem to have a good attitude. I wonder how often that is just a front, though. best wishes to your friend
i am very sorry crystal war is a very inhumane thing. my grandfather was a POW in the Baton death march (WWII)
I'm really sorry to hear that, though, sadly enuf, the only surprise is that one of us has a personal connection to this victim... How many soldiers have died already? How many have been maimed? My brother got out of the Marines like a week before the stop-loss order went into effect a couple of years ago... I know there's been an issue about the military calling up people that have already served their time... I hope like hell they don't recall him. Scary shit. But of course this could never turn into another Vietnam
I am so sorry to hear that Crystal. My step-daughters father is out in Afaghanstan now. Plus I have a friend that is a navy seal, but his family does not know where he is................. ~namaste~
yes crystal, I feel for your friend and for those that call him son, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend ( and a bunch of other titles I cant remember right now) But I beg of you, if you know a service person over seas, whether you agree with their choice or not, send them a christmas card.
Look on the bright side.. George W. Bush's kids are perfectly fine. (Sorry to hear of your friend Crystal)
I am sorry to hear that crystal, I also hate this war, What a waste of life it is. I wish for all troops to return home safely.
Not unless they're blowing up construction workers, which they may be. In that case I have a friend over there.
Man, that really sucks. I'm sorry it hit so close to home for you. I'm very lucky in that I only have to read about it and see on TV, hear about it on the radio, etc. I don't have any friends or relatives who were unfortunate enough to be stuck in the military under this administration, so I count myself very lucky. This war is awful... Tell me again how this president got himself re-elected?
he won the popular vote and the electoral vote. bitch all you want, but apparently the majority of americans were more secure in a known war monger than Kerry....makes ya think dont it?
