I found a stray kitten

the other day. I was walking through the alley to my friends house and she was laying in a window well. She was SOO tiny and skinny, and I felt bad for her so I brought her home, gave her a bath, fed her, cleaned a little cut on her foot, and put flea medicine on her.

She was definitely starving. She is tiny, and I mean TINY, and she has only pooped/peed once since I've had her. She' also VERY tired.. all she does is sleep and follow me around from room to room. And if I'm not carrying her or petting her she's meowing for my attention. I'm going to buy her worm medicine tomorrow in case she has worms, but I'm afraid it might be something more serious..

I'm pretty sure there are no vets in the SL but there are probably a lot of animal lovers, and if you guys can give me any tips or something for caring for this kitten until I can take it to the vet that'd be great.

Aww! That's great that you did all that for her. I'd of probably done the same thing. Can you get any pics?

If her condition doesn't improve you should probably consider taking her to the vet to see if there's anything seriously wrong with her.

 

Whenever I'm done being lazy and stoned I'll walk to my room to get my camera and take some pics of her haha. She's sleeping anyway so the pics probably wouldn't be that good.


I'm gonna wait to take her to the vet for a little bit and just try to get her better myself. I am kinda broke to take her to the vet i got a paycheck coming soon though. Hopefully I can take her then

If you can, buy her some pedialyte and mix it with some milk instead of water.
Feed her slowly, soft foods, dont want her stomach to get too full, not used to food, she could get constipated. dont worm her yet. take her to the vet. or make sure you know how old she is, in her frail state, an overdose of wormer could harm her..
Keep her warm. Love her. she will be fine.

Most counties have SPCA's where you can bring her to and have her checked out at a very low rate. Most vets will also check out an animal for you for a very reduced rate if you let them know that it is a stray and that you don't have much money.

If you don't have the money to take her to a vet send me a PM-I'll give you my phone number. Find a vet, let them know that you found a stray, don't have much money, but some crazy guy over the internet offered to pay for it with a credit card.

@Kevin: I'm not close to Philly. I'm close to Pittsburgh. My county has an SPCA, i might try to give them a call. If its cheap enough, then i'm good!

Pinch her skin on her back. It should take no longer than a second to smooth back out. If its slow to expand, she is dehydrated. Dont you have another cat? compare their skin.

If you can afford some pedialyte, like I said, mix it with milk. If you cant, just make sure to wake her every half hour and see if she will drink water.

haha i knew from the title that you were going to end up keeping her... even if you weren't as sure of that yourself you toooottally would have! no one can pick a stray kitty off the street and feed it and stuffz then let it go again

 

She really won't drink anything. I try to make her drink all the time, and she just don't want it. I might run up to the store and see if I can find some pedialyte

 

Haha! Yes, of course I'm gonna keep her. My mom told me not to get attached to her, but I'm staying down here at college all summer so I'm going to keep her!! haha She's like my child now.

Get a medecine dropper and force hydrate her. Just let about a drop or two into her mouth and let her swallow. She NEEEEEDS to drink. Its for her own good. start with water now. Find a straw or just with your finger, dip it in water and make her drink.

 

She's very pretty. Maybe when things are going better clean up her coat a bit. I'm jealous, lol.

@gene: yeah her hair is kinda ratty. I'm gonna brush it out good and make it pretty but i'm worried about other things right now

she might be too young to drink by herself. If you get a small dropper bottle or a bottle with a small teat she might be more willing to drink.
