I fail at torrent.

Just got a 9800gx2... Looking forward to playing Crysis maxed the fuck out. Yet I fail at torrents.

Anyone know a good tracker site other than demoniod? 10kb/s.. doesnt cut it.

Say I started the torrent from mininova, then started it again from pirate bay to add the trackers, does that mean I'm going to get higher dl speeds? I'm kind confused about this.

 

leave it on overnight for best speeds... i also noticed it tends to build over 15min... so if its 10kb/s at start it doesnt mean it will not reach 250kb/s in a few minutes...

Also since crysis is kinda popular, theres many more leechers...
And i think the tracker thing is just like a refresh for dead toreets... i dunno.

But yeah, i use mininova and avrg 150-200kb/s per torrent, usually multi tasking like 15 diff files leading to my overall download being 1mb/s

movies in under an hour on some ocasions...

 

yea.. i tend to do most of my downloading over night.. otherwise my internet gets bogged down and gets really annoying because im usually between 300-400kb/s

 

There is nothing wrong with demonoid, at worst it was the torrent, or there is that slim chance something happened to their servers temporarily but I doubt it.

Left it over night.. still only getting a average of 20kb/s. =/. Oh well, 23% now, slowly but surely I guess.

 

maybe your torrent program aint set up correctly.. or your port is not forwarded

 

I'm using utorrent.. Error! Port 12086 does not appear to be open. What do I do now? I'm on a wireless connection so..

 

google/youtube port forwarding.. also.. one other thing that helps.. is lowering your upload rate.. if my upload goes above 30kb/s im not gonna download for shit.. but i set it to 10kb/s while downloading.. i sit between 300-400kb/s

Edit: Lol, seems like alot of work, I set the port to 0 "auto" and im getting 100kb/s a sec now.. I'll mess around with it in the future, but for now i'm too lazy.

yeah i do my dling overnight as well. People bitch about torrents that they are so slow but they forget they are getting this shit for free and it's STILL only a few days wait MAX

 

i only use torrents for music, but music is more important to me than games and such

 

only time i'm downloading for "a few days" is if i have like over 20gb worth of shit to download..

 

since buying a 250gb external hdd.. i have been downloading ANYTHING that seems of interest to me.. hell i've even downloaded hentai games lol

 

my average kbs speed is about 150/250, i've gotten to 300 only one time

but if i'm downloading an album that isn't very well known it sometimes only gets 25-30 kbs, in which i just turn off my monitor, go to sleep and pull an all nighter. torrents are great

Thing is at like 300gb now... so to say, in one year, i gathered 300gb that i kept... not that much id say....
