I changed someone's life around 7 months ago. A now 16 year old young man's life around, he was heading in the wrong direction in life hanging in the wrong crowd when I was his age. It was after he did get a minor in possession ticket caught drinking. Faced the consequences for his actions which I was proud of him for and the judge gave him a chance, Said he would take it off his record if he changed his life around and did. Judge credited me for it. He knew about my past although I never got busted for anything I give back helping out troubled teens getting their life in the right track and telling my story about my past. At first he would not open up to me including his parents why he was doing this. Finally did learning bottling things up is not the answer. It was after his parents divorced a year ago he started it. 2 months later after that, he saw I was right and that is when decided that it was finally to hang in the right crowd whom make the right choices. One thing I did, talked to my boss getting him in as a lube tech and I made his day on his 16th birthday. My boss is for giving back to people whom have changed their life around and told him my boss on giving him a job offer which he said yes to. Found he likes to work on vehicles and I do teach him things. Does good on the oil changes and helps me at times. A great learner, soaks in his head and he is not afraid to ask me questions. I show him how to do it, does it right the first time His parents are glad I changed his life around before it got worse. His younger sister says he is a great role model to her now. A good kid doing good in school and will be in the 11th grade going back to school in the end of next month.
He needed a reality check and learned yeah right does not work. When he had that MIP removed, I told the judge I was like him at one time but never got busted. Judge was happy that I made the right choice enlisting in the USMC at age 18 and have been helping him out getting his life back on track making the right choices. Luckily there were other parents there that appraised me seen my parents taught me tough love at age 17 seeing what prison life was like, hell through a program for troubled teens. One mom, going to have me talk to her 16 year old daughter whom is doing the same thing, hanging around the wrong people being a negative influence on her. Found out she was caught smoking marijuana busted by a cop. Mom found her stash of it in her top dresser drawer and burned it up
