what do people like about american idol? it's easily one of the all time WORST television programs...

 

Are you kidding me? With all those insane costumes and those horrible, yet hilarious auditions.. how can you not love this show? Not to mention those wise-crackin' judges.

 

its pure drivel and showcases just about everything backwards, wrong, and disgusting about our culture.

no aspect of it is appealing, interesting, or entertaining.

 

That is the exact reason people watch this show, and this especailly goes for the auditions. This type of horrible television makes people feel better about their shitty situation. I can't stand this or 90% of the other things on television.

theres good TV out there, but you often have to look for it....

It still exists because people like to watch other people get humiliated. After the winner is decalred you like never hear about them again. The only one who really survived was Kelly Clarkson. Then again I don't watch a lot of TV and have only ever seen the show in passing when my mom watches it.

It is terrible, but that's not what most of the population thinks.

I watched it tonight for the first time. I fucking hate it.
My sister actually tried out for the show. She made it on TV.
Almost none of the people physically meet the three judges even though it looks like it. They use camera tricks to make it look as if they are actually infront of them. The select few are called upon again, a few months later to do special fake shots with the three judges. Like the guy at the end where they interact with him.
But my sister tried out, and they made her say fixed lines so they could attach it later in the show.
They didn't end up using her speaking pieces. But she was the girl painted entirely green, while they did the Kelly Clarkson's Song montage. I haven't talked to her yet, but I bet she's really dissappointed that they only showed her for two seconds after all her work to paint herself and shit. Sucks for her.

But yeah... the entire show is almost entirely fake until the end

 

I watch the audition episodes if they happen to be on. Thats it.

But how about the new american gladiators??? Wanna talk about bad. It is so fucking scripted. I just want to kill Hulk.

 

I only watch the auditions. Watching peoples dreams be crushed make my ego bigger.

And it's fuckiing hillarious.

I feel like a dumbass watching American Gladiator.
I mean... I'm not sure which would be better, the producers actually thinking know one notices, or the people actually not noticing... I don't see how anyone can watch this.

 

i honestly have no idea. this one really stumps me. i hope its not because they think simon is funny and they like to watch paula drunk and it definitely isnt because of the music.

 

watching these reality shows is basically telling the corporations that Americans don't need scripted shows, and will settle for pretty much any piece of shit that's aired in primetime. I support the writers strike by not watching the main networks.

 

I don't really care for american idol, but I will watch the auditions, and the voting because face it american's like to watch other american's lose. I find the singing incredibly boring. I do like most other reality shows though like survivor, the biggest loser..

American idol is perfect for women and children and those men out there that are into singing. I think it's biggest fan base is tweens.

 

Ive seen it once and that was enough for me.
