I can't believe it's been a year...

wow....
This morning it completely baffled me that last year on this same day, I woke up having contractions and was about to give birth to my little baby girl.
I can't believe how things have changed. When I had her, I had so much trouble calling myself a mom....I felt like an imposter or something. But now I look back on everything that I've learned and I just am in shock!
And then there's Leane....the birthday girl. I can't believe that a year ago, she was this helpess little cherrub wrapped up in a blankie. Now, she's this independent little girl who's learning how to talk and walk and someone I can somewhat carry on a converstaion with! I can't get over the fact that she doesn't even look like a baby anymore. She's a little toddler now, and I can't believe it!

As for what we're doing for her birthday.....well....
I went to the dollar store to buy her some new "trinket" toys like instruments and those painted wood blocks that have numbers and letters on them. Tomorrow night we're having our own little family party....then on sunday, all the grandparents are coming out here and celebrating! We're looking so foward to it!

Ah....what a year it's been... I just can't believe it!

I remember for the first few weeks, I felt like I was in hell. I know that's a horrible thing to say, but I had really bad PPD and I just didn't feel that automatic connection. I was amazed by her and was so excited the day she was born....but it took a couple months for the lovey-dovey feelings to come. Since then, things have just gotten better and better. Now that she's able to actually play and learning how to walk, it's a blast to play with her, it's just so much fun!
I'm bugging Cody about having another one already! lol I keep telling myself that I need to get through school first, but nothing compares to being at home with the kiddies! I don't even feel like myself at school....I wish I were at home with Leane. The only thing that makes me happy is that she's made so many friends at the dayhome and loves it there!
