I bet I really impressed the male checker at Rite Aid just now

...with my purchase of menstrual pads, aspirin, gas-relief pills and a squeeky-toy for my dog.
It was one of those situations where there was only one (female) checker open, and I was next in line but the male checker just happened to open up his checkstand and say "I can take the next person in line" before I made it to the front. I looked to the group of men behind me to offer it to them but they were thoroughly enveloped in their (spanish) conversation. So I had no choice but to reluctantly accept. Oh, life.
