I'm a long time smoker (first time in Vietman), first time grower. I have ordered a stealth grow cabinet that should be here next week. I have all the stuff I need to get growing hydroponically. I have spent the last two weeks reading info from the internet (forums and how to} and watched a couple of different videos. This hydoponic growing is all starting to come together, but I have a few questions for all the experts out there

    Here are my questions:

I've seen alot of advice to newbies to start their first grow with bagseed. It appears the success rate on first time hydro grows is piss poor, and you shouldn't throw your money away buying good seeds. This old fart didn't have bagseed, so I have some BC Mango, and Northern Lights coming. If successful at getting any of these seeds up to a mother plant I plan on cloning down the road. Is it possible for a first time hydro grower to pull off a decent crop? I know there is a steep learning curve with this growing stuff and there is nothing like on the job training, but I hope by buying good equipment and doing my homework in 2 or 3 months I'll be smoking some stuff that will knock my dick in the dirt.

Was BC Mango and Northern Lights a good choice for a Newbie? If not, I'm open to suggestions.

    Thanks to all in advance.

Hydro is a good way to start IMO, 'cause they let you know tomorrow if you didn't give 'em enough water etc. today:>)

Whereas soil takes days to see the changes;>)

    Good choices.
First time you do anything you're likely to make some mistakes. You can minimize that by purchasing a good grow book (Cervantes or Rosenthal come to mind), and reading the applicable parts ahead of time, then referring to your book frequently.
This forum is kinda risky, there are a lot of 13 year old advice givers. Browse icgmag.com or something like that address for more experienced advice.
    good luck.

fishheadbob has good advice, this forum isn't the best for advice. but i have grown before, and can tell you it is not unrealistic to hope for a decent crop your first time provided you have good common sense and have read some books/magazines/other forums quite thoroughly. from the sound of it, you have done some good research so you could do well. and NL from what i've been told (not from personal experience however) is a good first time strain. not sure on the mango though.
and you'll be looking at close to 4 months before you're smoking it. i typically figure for indicas (like NL) 1 month of veg, 2 months of flowering, and 1 month to dry/cure. of course you could smoke it before it's had decent curing time, but that's your choice. :)
