HPPD, paranoia or something else?

Some time ago, while I started taking psychedelics for first time, I noticed that sometimes I see few lines or dots(or both). They just appeared for a second, like a blink or something. I think they were green, blue and violet. (only one color per incident)

I have stopped taking anything two weeks after I noticed it. ( I was taking them once a week )

I don't remember if I read about HPPD after or before it happened. If it was after it would mean that I am just paranoid and that I am imagining these thing. After I read about it, I became more worried and more things started happening, like random flashes from time to time, or feeling that I saw something with corner of my eye. I became really sensitive for any light changes or reflections. Not to mention that I was worried that someone from my family found my drugs and took them.

It was still happenning and getting worse after I got rid of drugs and stopped taking them, but after some time when I was thinking less about psychedelics ( I was really fascinated and obsessed with them, thats why I started taking ) these things got weaker a bit.

Now I don't see any special things with open eyes during the day. But during the night or when I am in dark I am not sure if I see normal with open eyes, or if there is some sort of 'snow' ( white only ), but with closed eyes, I definitely see some weak black&white dots, sometimes forming into advanced geometrical shapes, sometimes becoming more strong or even starting having colors.

I also became aware of floaters, but I think I had them whole life.

Did anyone have/had anything similar, or knows anything about it? What does it look like for you? Paranoia? HPPD? Out of adjustment GABA receptors?

I would really love to try again psychedelics some day, definitely with longer breaks.

i don't think it has anything to do with GABA receptors, as psychedelics don't really influence those.

you may just be noticing things that you never noticed before

also, tripping once per week, for several weeks in a row is not great for your brain chemistry equilibrium.

I thought I had HPPD for a few weeks, since the visual symptoms I had were coupled with the symptoms of a panic disorder (which is a different story). But then I realized that I've had the visual things (snow, floaters, after images, etc.) all my life and my older brother (never used drugs) has them too. When I was a little kid, I would press on my eyes and watch a familiar progression of colorful patterns sweep all over my field of vision. I've never ever noticed psychedelic trails outside of a drug experience.

Though.. in dreams I've experienced the most gorgeous psychedelic visuals ever. They were so beautiful I cannot really remember them now, since they were so complex. Sasha and Ann Shulgin trip a whole shit-ton and don't have any problems. They talk about it somewhere during this interview..

Worried about your family TAKING your drugs?

Other than having less drugs, why would that bother you? To TAKE them, they would obviously have to be cool with them.

I think this is paranoia. I do have some new visual phenomena since psychedelics, but not in an HPPD style way. If it's not messing with your life quit bitchin'. They are psychedelic drugs, while there may be no changes that you are aware of or that you attribute to them, they can also rock your shit, with just one dose.

Your outlook changing after taking drugs that have the potential to cause some of the most intense "spiritual" states that humans can experience is something that you should expect. If not, don't take them.

Basically, you don't seem to understand what you've been playing with, and it snuck up behind you. Check yourself and stop being paranoid.

It was for abouth month, but still It was too much for me.

I just can't understand, how they are alive and in such well shape after all the stuff they have taken.

    meant taking away/finding

There was definitely some paranoia just after I stopped taking them, it just feels strange that it ould last so long. And yeah, I've made some mistakes, hoping not to repeat them.

I sometimes see little lines or dots of different colors, and I've done psychedelics...but actually I had that before I even knew what psychedelics were.

But anyways since I've done psychedelics lights at nights will never be the same, I can't even remember what they looked like before and now they don't look quite like they do when I'm tripping but closer to that then how they looked before.....Oh and I sometimes get the breathing walls effect or the ground might look like it moved or other weird things. I also see different shapes and colors when I close my eyes sometimes but that's another thing that's been as long as I can remember I used to do that for fun when I was a kid and pushing a bit on my eyes while closed made the designs and colors more apparent so I would sit there pushing on my eyes because it was fun. Thing is I thought everyone had that when they closed their eyes..up until I read that.

I've done shrooms I really don't know how many times mostly in a period of a few weeks a couple years ago when I was 20...and I've done acid 4 times, and I'd love to find some more of either. I wonder how acid and shrooms are together, but I'm not jumping into that till I do some research and only if it sounds like a good thing to experience.

But yeah it is possible for psychedelics to cause things like that when you're not tripping, especially if your doing them often. I personally don't really mind if I'm going about my business and realize I'm having a free ride on the psychedelic train...its certainly easier on my wallet. Not as good as actually taking acid or shrooms though.

You're just tripping out. Lots of fucked up stuff has happened to me, and I'm still here.

Noticed something similar. Some things look or feel different for me, but I can't remember how they were before I took psychedelics.

I think if anyone closes their eyes and look for something, they'll see something. patterns, dots, lines, whatever. It just seems to me like you're paying closer attention. Don't sweat it.

Someone explain this scientifically, please. :D

Another funny thing with it, is that if you don't blink, you stop seeing the circle. Also on psychedelics, when I wasn't blinking, visions became to intensify.
