God, Radiohead make me want to cry when I'm drunk and it's late and quiet outside. Some of their recent music is so beautiful.

The first song I learned to sing AND play. That and "Fritteriing" by Mercury Rev. Doesn't sound as good without all the strings and clashing rhythms.

Yeah I don't find Radiohead all that depressing either. They've done some pretty sad songs obviously but they don't seem to bum me out. Actually I find if I am bummed out, playing something like 'How To Disappear Completely', 'Exit Music' or 'Fake Plastic Trees' can bring some relife from it!

I think you're right in saying there's more beauty in their music these days, I don't think it was intended exactly, but just breaking away from the fuzzy rock of 'Pablo Honey' or 'The Bends' has really showed how elegant their songs can be.

Tracks like Idioteque and Wolf At The Door are anything but depressing.
