How much or how little contact do you have now with your school friends?

I definitely fall into the latter category as regards this, be it for better or worse. It has been many years since we left secondary/high school, so I guess that it is only to be expected that one falls out of touch with their old friends. I had some really good friends when I was growing up and from time to time, I recall the things that we got up back in those days and laugh.

That is just me though. What has your experience been?

I don't even remember any of these people...

Which is fine... I'm sure they don't even remember me.

I went to one reunion about 25 years ago. It was ok. I remember all of them, 92 to the class. If they get another one together, I'll go, but I would imagine there would only be a few left. Class of '57.

more people have said happy birthday to me today on line, then the total number of friends i ever knew i had in school.
if i had secret friends they kept their secrets. of course we didn't have internet then, or even computers an ordinary person could afford.

its not something i really worry about. i know one killed himself with his car, that was fifty years ago. the other i last saw driving a bus, and that was 30 years ago.
i remember what most of them looked like then, but then was between 50 and 60 years ago, so i doubt i'd have the slightest idea who any of them were if i ever did see any of them again.
i never really hung around with anyone very much. took more long walks by myself in the woods instead.

what tyrson said. i can't imagine any good reason anyone from then would have to remember me. not that many bad ones either.

Only two from the class of '64. So many died young or just disappeared.

you were two years ahead of me. 66 here. not many today were born yet to remember this, but if you were male and could walk talk and breathe,
    in the u.s. the army was drafting us to go kill people who didn't need killing in viet nam. there were a small number of ways out of this;
college deferments, if you had parents who were willing and could afford them, emigration to canada or some other non-involved nation,
if you had the courage and a spirit of advanture, you could try hitchiking there, if you lacked other resources as i did (but didn't),
or you could avoid the army by enlisting in some other branch of the service. navy and coast guard both sounded interesting,
but air force had the best technotoys, and that's where i went.

I send birthday greetings to my good high school friends. I occasionally exchange emails with a few. I enjoy seeing them when I visit my home town or attend high school reunions.

I'm still friends with people I went to school with. We're all middle aged now and when we get together, we just talk about our kids.

Our kids are as old as we were when we first started hanging out. It's funny how everything goes full circle

Almost none. Most of the attendees at reunion I attended years ago are deceased, gone, disappeared, etc. A lot of DUIs, drugs, bad decisions, etc. I was sent a link to a video that was taken recently and there were only 5 or 6 people that I could recognize - even with them wearing a name tag.

I avoided the Army by joining the Army with a contract to go to one of three technical schools I selected. I spend one year in tech school and two years in the field. The GI Bill covered 4 years of college and I used every dollar.

Grade school and high school. One that I text talk with and that maybe 5 or 6 times a year. Following them on social media is about the extent of it. College friends a group of 15 and we are in touch everyday

Nada. I lost contact with them years ago. I was never much for writing letters. I miss them though, and hope they're doing well.

I occasionally still get an email from the one person from school (a guy) that I miss the most. He was my best friend from when I was 12 and then we went to college together, where I gave him my virginity because I trusted him. (I blogged here about that.) We stayed in frequent touch for several years after college but then it became less and less frequent. I still love hearing from him.

I have some on my Facebook page but we never speak therefore none. We are going to have an all School alumni reunion this summer for a school that closed in the '80s and is not even there anymore, just a vacant lot. Don't know if I'm going or not.

Since my last post here--the ones who always got the reunions together--have died. So---I guess that's it. :worried:
