How many of you have a name that people made fun of you for having as a kid?

Unless it's your last name, you really need to slap your parents.

Anyway... any of you out there? I'm here to counsel you in some therapy sessions.

 

My last name was Pomeroy and some ass called me robin playboy all the time............. but that is about it...................................................................

 

I got called Toad quite a bit. It didn't hamper my development in any way.

 

My name is Aaron Goodman. My younger brother is Abe. That's Jewish for John Smith. We grew up in the South. In the late 60s and early 70s. If I'd been born black I'd have had fewer fights after school. But we learned to kick redneck ass early. So it's all good.

 

I'm gonna name my kid Millhouse.

 

I named my son Jimi


apparently if you have the Jimmies it means you have diarrhea....... who knew?

 

We gave our daughters double barrelled names (Amber-Lynn and Iona-Syke) to allow them to pick the name they prefer. Amber didn't like her name all that much in school (kids used to call her people called her Anne Boelyn or off with her head) but she's grown into it I think.

Iona's too young to realise her name's different.

 

my name is joy, so i have had people sing "joy to the world" and "i've got the joy joy joy joy down in my heart" oh and "happy happy joy joy" to me pretty much my whole life. it was annoying for a while but now i'm pretty much used to it. joy is a different name but it suits me well i think.

 

My sister's name is Ashley.

I call her Ash-hole and Ash-tray.

You can't much make fun of my name.

I was called Walnut as a play on my last name after getting racked once for forgetting to wearing a cup to a football practice. They used to chant "Crack Willy's Walnuts" to get me fired up.

 

my name's brian. everyone else's name is brian. if it's not it's ryan and nobody can tell the difference. nobody really made fun of me for it, it's just annoying never knowing if people are talking to/about me or someone else

 

Amanda's a pretty common name...I had a kid make fun of my last name in first grade, but pfft, whatever. His last name was Graham so everybody called him Cracker. I've personally always been intrigued by unique names. I knew a girl named Apolyne (I think that's how you spell it, Apple-Lynn is the pronunciation) in high school, that was probably the strangest name I'd heard.

My cousin's youngest child's name is Ayame (Uh-yah-mee), but we only make fun of it because it "came to him in a dream." Hahahaha.

 

I think for a short while, kids called me cryin ryan..... but they went on to other things... I had so many nicknames.

my mom told me that they called their sister, gladys, happy butt. she hates that name to this day. lol.

 

oh god, flashback to "brian is cryin!" maybe i did get made fun of and i just blocked it out

 

My name in Angela and no one has ever made fun of it. If anything people sometimes slip up and call me Angel.

 

well my name is charlie brown so yea took alot of ridicule for that name.

 

My real names Emelia, but when I was little I couldn't pronounce it, and called myself Pealie instead. Since then its been a pet name at home, and when I was around 7 or 8 I got some stick for it. Bah. Pealie's an awsome name. Do YOU know anyone called Pealie??? Or Emelia?? (In that spelling). Haha. I rule

 

I got called a lot of things but nothing to do with my given name.
