I've done acid a handful of times and the other day two of my friends who haven't done it told me they were thinking about dropping for the first time. They wanted to know what it's like, and I said it completely changed my perspective on everything. They didn't understand, but when I tried to explain all I could come up with was that it's an ineffable experience.

Can anyone perhaps explain it a little better than I can? Thanks :D

It helps digest the food I eat so I can grow and be vigorous.

LSD activates neurons that might not have been activated in someones life otherwise. It also changes the neuronal pathways in a way that might not have happened otherwise. In this sense it is most definitely, "life altering". Weather you view this as good or bad is up to you, but it does change you and how your brain works. Or how you would say, "views".

In a more hippy way, it makes you appriciate certain things a lot more. For instance, if you see someone play hacky sack on tv it might not be that interesting. But if you see them in real life, it becomes more interesting. Now when you see them on tv, you appriciate it more. Kinda like how you know colors, you might like them even. But after acid you will have a greater appreciation for colors and you will notice them more. This type of thing happens on multiple levels of the acid trip. Not just colors, or visuals like patterns, or noticing personality flaws/likeness, or thinking about the couch differently, etc..

If you go through your life never stopping to see what the ants are doing, you might not appreciate them. But when you stop and look, or someone or something teaches you what they build and can do; you might appreciate them more. (You can use this analogy on anything that your friends like a lot or are interesting in, will prob make it hit home harder for them)

^^^Codmouse, nice that is fuckin funny

acid has helped show me that i am smarter than i actually thought i was, it has showed me who i am as a person, what i have done (good and bad) it from that i can try to build up my own characteristics as a person, i used to not really think i had a conscious and dididnt really believe in karma laws, it has opened up many doors in my mind which would have remained shut and locked if it werent for lsd

It puts you and the world together. Ou see where you do stand, and where you can. It unveils an amount of creativity you never thought was imaginable.

Your brain registers senses through the thalamus, every sense put smell goes through the thalamus. What the thalamus does is put bias to information, your senses receive. You receive about 11000 bits of information per second, but the thalamus decreases it to about 200 bits of info, by putting a bias decision making on the incoming info, and by sending the information to parts of your brain wired to patterns and logic. This connects everything you see, acid takes away this ability, and you end up with a true/enhanced reality, unbiased, and without sending the info to be categorized by expirential patterns, you see new things. That is why you think in soo many tangents. all of your senses are then improved

However, the trippy factor is when neurons start firing sooooo fast in your brain, they're starts to be a delay, like feedback on an amp that distorts everything, and everything is wavy, however you still learn, in fact probably learn more on this part of the trip.

Yeah. I've definately found its given me a heightened appreciation for life, and everything in it. Made me a more empathetic, well rounded person.. Trying to not feed the ego anymore.. Hell, before doing acid i was really just a kid experimenting and simply being in it for the fun and partying. Hell, before i know it, im a buddhist, have a ponytail, and im hitchhiking for weeks on end!

I think psychedelics have great potential for any kind of expansion.

Acid has given me a more profound appreciation for life, nature, and the human mind. It's opened my mind up to be able to see all the beauty in the world. It's also allowed me to realize how pointless all the other drugs I've had habits with are, excluding weed. Nothing else is beneficial to my mind like acid and other hallucinogens are.

Psychedelics are to me what anti-virus software would be to a computer. They clean out all the crap and spy ware society is trying to infect me with.

Society is deisgned to keep you tuned into a certain energy frequency, a certain mindset. Psycedelic drugs are not productive to the sort of consumer driven culture we have. We are bombarded with advertisments every day that constanly sell us something bigger, faster, or better. And this is suppsoed to be our source of satisfaction, the aquring of goods.

Governments have outlawed a state of mind by banning psychedelics. They make you think in a way outside this consumer box. You don't require drugs to get outside the box, but they can help, and that's what makes them dangerous.

If you have taken acid the day before, you will not be in the mood to sit in a hour of traffic just to be in a cubicle all day. That is what the older generation feared about the hippies. They were afraid no one would be willing to continue the capitalist way of life, and America would fall apart.

Well acid and shrooms have given me a greater appreciation for pretty much everything. Instead of ignoring bugs I wonder what they're up to, instead of judging people I put myself in their shoes(I try my best to at least). I take time to soak up where I live, although it's always been beautiful never really appreciated it until my first mushy trip.
It's also helped my artwork, because I've noticed subtle things that are always there in real life that have been exaggerated under the influence. And obviously given me a creativity boost...

That's cool man but the hitchhiking thing is exactly what I don't want to do. But if you have confidence in yourself then I am no one to judge. Be safe.

oh yeah my second time dropping my life changed forever. I don't know how to explain it but ever since then I've stopped being reserved...I made a post about that on this forum a while back but the friend who was going to trip with me never did...maybe this weekend though.

ANYWAYS- I felt the waves and had to ride them. (it was awesome) I also appreciate things like walking through the forest with my dog and the drops of rain dripping down and just how beautiful everything is. It's like I had always just..took it for granted. Not anymore :)

I can also freestyle rap and write music really well now.
    no joke.

Acid is medicine for the soul, curing and cleansing it. It helped me become a better person in general, more friendly, more tolerant, far less selfish, it opened my eyes to new possibilities and assuming all aspects of my person. It also helped me get rid of my addiction to opiates a few years ago, sharpened my intuition and psychic abilities and is a great way to find new creative ideas (for art and labworks, acid has helped me a lot).

Acid has made me changed my friends, possibly for the better. it has shown me the need and respect for patience. I have also lost the need for materialism-I never by random crap anymore, and i now put more value on people, I still care about my iPod and stuff cause of music, but I don't feel pleasure in consumerism.

I have opened up in my doors of perception, even if I disagree with someone, I understand their value and purpose. in some ways I have become more self centered, and in others less. I think more about my role in society, my being, my purpose, but I also put hat thinking onto others, I connect myself with every human now to see if it is a direction I may be willing to take. As a result I have grown friendlier and more social from my past self. I hope to find a relationship soon because I have found new forms of love that I wish to share. Love and peace aren't just cliche words/phrases, it's a way of life
