let me first start off by saying that i am over weight like 50 pounds overweight. so i want to start to shead those extra pounds now that i am getting older. But the problem that i have ime sure many of you have too. i just cant stay focused on working out, i start out working out for a week then i just dont wanna do it anymore, so what i want to know is how do you guys stay focused on working out or even if you dont work out what do you think i should do to stay on track?
In the immortal words of Nike, "Just do it." And no, I'm not being a smart ass. Like you, I am overweight. Like you, there are days I don't feel like working out. What I've learned is that there is no secret strategy to working out when you don't feel like working out. There is no secret to staying focused or staying on track. All that is required is for you to do whatever it is you do WHETHER YOU FEEL LIKE DOING IT OR NOT. PERIOD. Now you can ask for help from your friends, your trainer, your family, gf, etc. and I'm sure they'll be glad to assist you - BUT it will still fall on you to keep on going even when you don't feel like doing it. They can push you and encourage you, do everything they can to motivate you (and believe me, that helps a lot), but you're still the one who has to put in the hours at the gym, not them. Much luck, happy holidays, happy new year in advance, and here's to a healthier us come 2008.
replace foods with fat free versions walk away from the table, cut down your intake. your stomach will shrink and your body will get use to you eating less. dont eat out.. get control. i know its hard but just think how sexy your gonna look. and less fat around the lower region means more inches! if i that cant get you motivated, then i dont know what will.
"sexboys" thats what i do, but the thing is that after a while your body gets used to eating like that and stops loosing weight man. life sucks, i do all that stuff and so far its lost me 30 pounds but for the past few months the scale isnt going anywhere man. thats why i just wanna add some workout sessions in hopes that ile loose some more. because i think that being fat is holding me back from doing so much.
If you've lost 30 pounds, then your life doesn't suck very much. You're on the right track! And adding exercise is going to help you lose more. Just keep at it. You've got to consistently burn more than you take in, and since your body is already used to eating less you really need the exercise. I hope however that your diet is proper? I mean, it's not enough that you're eating less, make sure you're getting good nutrition. And don't starve yourself, especially if you intend to add workout sessions. I can't tell you how many times I got dizzy while practicing martial arts on an empty stomach. But that's because I can't do physical activity on a full stomach - I just feel too heavy and slow. So I have to plan my meals perfectly so that when it's time to get sweaty I'm neither full nor empty.
LOL good point! Actually he won't be adding inches down there, it's just going to look longer because the fat in that area will be gone. There's something that will motivate him more. And that is: healthier and physically fitter body = more stamina in bed. And now that we're on the subject of sex: elitesaint666, if you have a girlfriend and you're sexually active, you're in luck because sex is easily one of the most fun workouts I can think of. Of course if you don't have one then you'll have to find yourself a willing partner first.
I hate working out with a passion. What I did to stay in shape was getting a labour intensive job. You pretty much get paid for working out and it's a million times better to be out working in nature or such than to sit in an office on your ass. You can also play sports daily, which will help ya get in shape faster than you can imagine. Or you can go the housewife way and get some Tai-Bo tapes
Amen. I'm a supervisor so I don't have to do manual labour. But I work in an 80-hectare resort up on a mountain slope, so whenever I can I hike to wherever it is I need to be - and that alone is a great workout.
dont' just eat fat-free versions of food - thats stupid advice better advice would be to eat natural foods. lots of veggies, lean meats, fruits, nuts. don't start yourself. make sure you get protein in every meal, along with soem veggies. exercise - stay away from machines. learn to use free weights. learn to do basic bodyweight movement. basic movements all healthy people be able to do are: push, pull, squat, lunge in multiple directions, and the basics of running and stopping - stepping down/running down hills. those are basic movements that a healthy person should be able to accomplish with no problem.
all veggies give you bad gas? i'd rather deal with bad gas than eating something that says "fat-free" on it
sorry to say, but you 1st have to have lost at life compleatly if you're 'working out'. Buy a skateboard, or find somthing that challenges you and you can do with people and on you're own, cause it's fun. If you 'work out' what kind of hippy are you. You may as well hit the tanning salon while you're at it.
Yes man. "OOOH I JUST HAD SUCH A WORK OUT. FEEL MY TRICEPS" Working out is pointless cause it's mindless. Get out of stank ass gym, go outside do somthing admirable.
I have been skateboarding pretty much everyday for twentyfuckingone years. No motivation problems yet--cause it's a challange and I like to fall on my face I like to hurt myself I like everything.
