I don't mind if a lady is in like the lobby powder room where it's clean and private but I'm a little uncomfortable in private. There are some ladies that don't conceal their breast. It's natural to want to see a cute baby but then a breast pops out at you and it's just very uncomfortable for me. (I'm telling you my hang-ups and I don't expect people to share them.) I'm not a total prude but I find that it's uncomfortable because I like looking at the baby but when that breast comes at me then I don't want to look in that direction anymore.

I think that it is perfectly natural. A. it's the healthiest way to feed a baby,

    B. it's not like she's waving her breasts around...more than likely she's being discreet...and 3. sure, some people are going to feel uneasy, but they don't have to watch!

I only feel uncomfy when I'm in a situation where it's right in front of me. I know that when you are in a home, a restroom, or a lounge that women do these things but wheat if you are at a restaurant and the person is sitting at the table next to you. I once was at a bus stop and a lady came, sat next to me and started to feed her baby. Now come on, isn't that just a little uncomfortable?

i think that a woman should be discrete about it but not necesarily hide. for example my friend would breast feed her son in restaurants, or at her house when company was over etc... no prob. but it did bother me when she would sit at the front of church a few feet from teenage boys and flip up her shirt for her son to feed off.

Personally, I have no problem with it. It's a natual thing to do.

I breastfed my son in public, but not often. It was too much of a hassle for me personally because I normally fed him while laying down. I don't care what people think...if I needed to do it for him, I did it. Unlike some people who just whip it out right in front of everyone and their dog, I had tact and class.

You sound polite. I brought this subject up because I was watching and episode of Judge Judy where this woman is in a crowed restaurant lobby, sitting next to some woman's husband (not her own) and she whips that bad boy out and starts feeding her child. The guy looks over at the baby, which kicks him in his face. (It's just a little baby foot so no harm was done.) He notices the boob was out for it's Mexican restaurant debute so he turns away,(probally a little embarraced.) I say feed your child but be discreet. That does not mean to sit next to some strange woman's husband in the doorway of a Mexican restaurant and whip that bad boy out and make a show. I mean she was there while children were present. (I wonder what the guy was thinking when he was looking down at the baby and saw the milk machine in progress.)

I breastfed all 7 of my kids for different lengths of time. As the youngest ones got near their 1st birthday family members would make negative comments. 1 baby refused a bottle for anything & also refused pacifiers. Depending on the situation (time, location & event) I would go into another room, go out into the car and stayed home alot. There were times when I breastfed in the parking lot & people would glance as they walked by but they never said anything to me. Few times when in public I would have an extra baggy shirt to hide myself from "showing off".
Gee...ya would think nobody ever saw a breast on TV or in magazines before the way some people talk.

You have to understand human nature. Humans tend to look at things that are bare. (It's not a paper plate you know lol.) When you see a baby you think,"How cute." When you see a lady breast feeding, (at least this is how I feel) you think, I'm intruding on a private moment or personal time. I understand that the baby has to eat but I just feel that it should be in a more private setting. (By private I mean not at the table or in the lobby of a restaurant but in a lounge or some place more discreet.

I never even thought of that lol. Well in his defense the baby was 14 months. (I hope his face wasn't that low. I never thought of that one lol.) Have you ladies noticed that the guys have avoided any and all parts to this post? lol
