Do you have to dress up for work, or are you allowed to go to work looking like your hippie self?

This is a picture of me and my friend "Hippie Missy" working at the radio station. I typically come to work like this all the time, usually in tye dye or Led Zep t-shirts though...lol

I dress up. It's required, plus I want to. In my own spare time I wear whatever I want, but to work, it's heels and dress pants!

Your hair doesn't cover your ears? That's very un-hippie!
    ;) Gotcha.

I agree with you. I want to grow my hair longer.

I work at a music store that gives lessons to little kids and rents instruments. I don't take out my lip ring anymore, and I generally wear whatever. A colorful sweater and jeans with boots, or a skirt and blouse with my birks is my usual work apparel.

I wear my normal clothes, just have to make sure it isn't too revealing. But jeans, long flowery tops, bright colours. But I have managed to get away with my bracelets and rings, hair wraps. I think people like that I am different.

I don't think I've such an extreme clothing style and I usually have my hair in a ponytail. So I can just wear what I please.

I work in a pretty conservative environment, so we have a dress code.
Stupid anarchist in me keeps pushing the limits, though... so I frequently end up in mild trouble.

Jeans without holes, running shoes, and a respectable T-shirt.

I work in an office with a clothing policy, such as no open toe shoes, no micro mini dresses or other exposing garments.

I have been wearing nice hemmed shorts to work for the past decade. They recently changed the clothing policy, only ppl with active jobs can wear casual clothes, but my boss got me grandfathered in so I can still wear shorts in my office. (I got nice looking old legs - it is an asset to the company to let ppl see them :p)

Of course this is how I work at home (when the window is open - when blinds are pulled the shorts go)

how i normally dress, just with a smock over me meh <,<

  17. Normally work from home so not an issue, but I used to kind of tidy myself up if I had a messenger link, but not now. They want to hear what I have to say not comment on how I am dressed. I do teach a few hours a week in people's homes but I don't change for that either. Luckily my first client knew how I was and when she recomends me I think she feels duty bound to give an explanation of how I will probably turn up and then the client is pleasantly surprised because her description is a bit exagerated
