I dunno the best thing to say. I have gotten told that by my christian friends every now and then when the topic of theology comes up in discussions.

I guess I should just reply:

"Oh well, at least I'll be in good company"
    "Heh, I'm already there."

    What would you say?

In all honesty, it depends upon the conversation.

Many different Christian variables can lead toward the you're going to hell comment.

My initial response, however, would be Hell does not exist.

I Can Honestly Say Nobody Has Ever Said That To Me...:).

As For My Reply If Someone Ever Did, It Would Totally Depend On What

    Led Up To It...:).

    Cheers Glen.

Look them in the eye and say, "See ya there."

I've been accused of liking evil, murder and such...because I didn't want to talk about Jesus with the JoHos that came to my door. I was a bit surprised that they would be so dark about it.

They don't come around anymore, the local Kingdom Hall is now a daycare.

    Long Waiting List...:(.

Next Time They Ring My Doorbell I May Just Suggest Daycare Is The

    New Religon...[IMG].

My answer would likely be something like "Is that what that book says? The one written by superstitious middle-eastern ancient tribal goat-fuckers and sheep-fuckers?"

Being even borderline polite to people spewing religion is just asking for trouble.

I had to scare my JoHos away, they knocked round every single week and I felt bad sending them away.

    I told them I was catholic :D

I've never been told that by anyone but I also keep pretty quiet about my beliefs around people that dogmatic.

I think I would remind them of a basic tenet of their religion - no one sits on the throne of judgement except God

They came to my friend Rich's place while he was in the shower and seeing who it was (JWs) he answered the door butt naked with a growling doberman in hand, "What the fuck you want?" Never came by again!LOL

Christians around here seem to be rather sane and polite and not looking for such provocations. If one would be naive enough to think such a comment would make an impact on me I think I would just tell them I think otherwise. But in the end it would all depend on the situation in my case too. For instance if it would be told to me in an uncalled for manner I might be more pronounced in expressing my disagreement. On the other hand, if we were having an interesting conversation I might ask why they think that. In general it is clear why they have that opinion though and I have discussed this topic often enough to let it pass :p
In most cases I would not be offended.

I tend to say - I don't believe in hell. It's honest and polite. I did read something somewhere about hell that wasn't the usual flames and damnation etc. I can't remember how it goes now. Something about hell being heaven with out any hope. I'd love to be able to remember. Will do a bit of Googlemania.

Yeah if you exhibit actual knowledge of the Bible, they turn and run.

One day this neophyte was making the rounds with her keeper.
When the newbie asked me about Jesus I told her my beliefs didn't agree with hers. So she asked me how. I told her that I believed Jesus was the physical incarnation of God, was crucified and then resurrected 3 days later, yayada...
The young-un started to engage me about that, then her keeper grabbed her arm, apologized for disturbing me and turned and made a hasty retreat.

The JW's want the popular view of them to be that they teach essentially basic Biblical Christianity with a few differences, that couldn't be further from the truth and when they encounter people who are aware of what they actually believe, they do not like it one bit!
