How do psychedelics and lucid dreaming compare?

I was wondering, how do psychedelics and lucid dreaming compare? Also, in lucid dreaming, is your thinking affected at all or do u think clearly?

 

both experiences could potentially paralell each other or the could be nothing alike. ive had some very lucid dreams the had some trip like qualities to them like the overall confusion and lack of clearly defined reality but i have to say a trip is an experience like no other. ive never experienced true ego death while dreaming. ive always imagined dreams as my ego running wild in the deepest cavities of my mind whereas trippignis the realization that my ego is all egos or an illusion of separation
