I've done pure mescaline a few times before, with much enjoyment. Usually legal highs are kinda shiesty, so I was wondering from someone who has done both, how do San Pedro and Peruvians compare to synthetic, or Peyote? I know there's alot less mescaline meaning you have to consume more, so does that kinda ruin the trip by causing too much nausea?
one thing is you can up the mescaline count in a cactus but doing some stuff to the cactus i think one way is to slowly put the cactus into water,i dont think most people try and up the mescaline count in there cactus, i never done mescaline so sorry i cant help more
I would suggest buying dried peruvian powder , much more potent, easier to consume either by capsule ( although seemed to delay the trip and create maybe hour and a half to 2 hours of nausea. Best method is just put in hot water mix and down fast, then suck on a lime or lemon to avoid the bitterness. I noticed a strong tension in my jaw with the cacti but didn't really notice it if memory serves with the pure. Also noticed a highly annoying swelling sensation in the throat, which wasn't bad but reminded me of feeling sick and prolonged it, this wasn't very noticable withen around an hour into peak. I highly feel that capsules induced more of these effects cause when they break it will expand and goo up in your stomach.
Mescaline itself causes nausea, and I think sometimes throat issues. I'm not sure if it is the mescaline or something else present in cactus- I read an article once on a native american guy who drank a bunch of liquor and ate peyote. I forget exactly what they said he died from, but I think it said something about his throat being swollen. I'm sure the liquor was what actually caused his death though.
ive never done pure mescaline or peyote, but i can tell you for sure that they are different experiences because of the fact that if you do pure mescaline you are ingesting a single compound, whereas cacti, sanpedro or peyote, you are ingesting a cocktail of drugs along with the mescaline that have modifying effects on the mescaline trip from cactus, they may enhance some effects and or inhibit other effects of the mescaline, ie depressent and or stimulant, nousea, dreams and spirits...peyote has more of these than sanpedro.
They actually sell it in dried powder? Where? The two companies I generally pruchase this type of thing from don't offer it. Could you PM me and give me a link to a company that does? Thanks.
i have tried san pedro once and it wasnt very intense. i dont have any other mescaline experiences to compare it to.
I was not overwhelmed by San Pedro either. The T. peruvianus that I have had, on the other hand, was righteous (this is an old hippie word.) it was very similar to peyote, as I recall my peyote experiences; those were around 1972 or so. As has been pointed out, though, nausea is a common occurance with mescaline regardless of the source.
go to Erowid Cacti Vaults : Visionary Cactus Guide - for list of the alkaloids in peyote "There have been over sixty alkaloids discovered in this plant (peyote) which has been described as a " little green chemical factory ". This Cactus is known to contain 56 nitrogen containing compounds derived from a tyrosine base, as well as 20 tyramine-like alkaloids. Most of the alkaloids present can be classified as B-phenethylamines like mescaline or tetrahydroisoquinolines like hordenine. mescaline (30% of the total alkaloids), " one would think taking mescaline plus some sixty other drugs would be a different experience than taking pure mescaline.
Just because they are alkaloids, doesn't mean they are psychedelic. Also doesn't mean that the dosages they are present in are active. I've always read the same thing, but it's never been clear to me from what I read that all of these alkaloids are psychedelic in nature.
An excellent point. The other alkaloids don't even need to be psychoactive; one may have sedative effects, another be a cardio-stimulant, another be a neurotransmitter agonist or antagonist, but all may be present at levels which have no activity. One just can't tell unless one does an A/B experiment with mescaline and peyote, preferably with several volunteers, and making it so the volunteers don't know whether they're getting A or B, and not knowing until the experiment is over, in order to eliminate as much as possible the placebo effect. It would be an interesting experiment. It would be interesting to A/B L. williamsii and T. peruvianus, too.
San Pedro causes less nausea than Peyote. Many of secondary compounds of Peyote are worthless. Check Trout's notes.
Does Peruvian Torch cause the good boost of energy such as pure? Or is it more tiring and laid back? Anyone know?
idk imm intrested in trying torch now too... r there ne sites that explains the effects and other peoples experiences?
No, not for people who use Satanic substances like ecgonine tartrate or the like. The Sacraments are wasted on people who use the consciousness-defiling drugs like cocaine. If you are really into shit like that, as your sigline indicates, you should be on a Clubkids site or somewhere equally as narcissistic. Jerry used cocaine and heroin. And it probably did the most harm to his body other than his bad eating habits and other aspects of the lifestyle...
Exactly my point, although I differentiate between the opioid alkaloids and the stimulants such as cocaine and amphetamine. The stimulants will seriously deplete your reserves of vitamins and select neurotransmitters, primarily dopamine. The opioids, on the other hand, are relatively inocuous. Their danger is the "I don't give a fuck" attitude which comes from prolonged use.
So true. It's not the H that destroys an addict, it's the lifestyle and mental state in which they dwell.
