Claiming that you're straight however, is not claiming expertise in anything at all. In fact it seems much more like a claim to willful ignorance of any potential positive aspects of gay sex.

I think the answer to your question is that any person can call themselves any sexual orientation they want(and be correct and justified in doing so) as long as it represents their own feelings of attraction towards others.
