how can i get a lighter? i'm only 14?

i just found out my main friend that is over 18 (the only one that would buy a lighter for me) is going on a business trip for 3 MONTHS.

somehow, i need to get a lighter for myself. i usually borrow one of my friend's lighters, but i need to get one for ME, in case i want to smoke by myself. and my friends don't have any spares.

but i can't just walk in walgreens and i buy one, can i? how can i get one? btw, i look 16 or 17 if that helps.

 

either:
A) Shoplift
B) Find them (people do drop them)
C) Nick one off a friend and or their parents
D) Use a match...

 

Just try buying them at different places until they let you. If that's all you're buying a lot of places won't care. I never had a problem back then. Or just roll blunts/joints and use matches.

Can't you just walk into any tobacconist, supermarket or any shop for that matter that sells lighters and purchase one? Since when was buying lighters illegal?

Quite absurd if that is the case in the USA.

 

can't you just buy one? I've been buying lighters since I was 15 and nobody's ever cared. I didn't know you had to be 18 to buy a lighter.

 

most places won't care but some places do require you to be 18; personally I've been to several places that have IDed me when all I was buying was a lighter and I certainly look 20+. I think most times it's just people being pissing and raining on someone's day, might as well try though not like you'll get in trouble just tell them you forgot your ID.

 

Yeah, most gas stations don't card for lighters. In fact, I wasn't even carded buying rolling paper, and one of my bowls.

step 2: start talking to the owner of the lighter so that (s)he does not notice your art of lighter stealing.

lighters a cheap no one care unless ur jacking it from some one who never has a lighter lol

edit: alot of places wont give a fuck if u buy a lighter i bought them from walmart lol if u live near a head shop they usualy dont card.

 

I look 14 and I've been buying lighters and matches for 3 years or so. It can't be that hard.

 

I was buying lighters since I was 13, never did I know it was an 18+ thing, but just go to a supermarket and go to the checkout that a young kid is working at, they wont care...

 

Or when someone asks for the light back, you can just be like "Aight yo, look, this is how it's gonna be, Im keeping this jaun and your going to shut up"

 

ask a friend if you can have one of theirs..
i don't even remember the last time i bought a lighter, in all seriousness
i either find lighters, or gank my friends lighters. lol

 

At Rite Aid in Pa, you have to give your birthday to buy a lighter,
so I decided to test the system I went to buy a can of Memorex "Dust Off". No Id required.. wow, talk about stupid..

 

if u dont learn how to jack lighters ur lighter will get jacked so many times lol every one jacks lighters

I usually jack my friends, but just go to your local hindu hut and buy one. Most of em don't care.

 

markets: i live near camden market london, u always have some joy there. im guessing markets across the pond r the same. other than that, just try loads of different places and you'll get lucky, try buying some groceries as well, just dont go straight for the lighter or u draw attention to urself. cheapdisposable lighters are fine dont try and buy zippos or jetlighters cos its more obvious.

or just nick them.

i can't steal one from a friend because i was talking about how i don't have a lighter the other day, and if i steal my friend's lighter i'm the first one they'll be looking at... and needless to say, they'd be pissed.

also, people around where i live are very... observant. for some reason, they ALWAYS notice things like an underage person buying a lighter. hell, my DAD (who's 48) was buying liquor one time and HE got ID'd.

i COULD go to a head shop, but the nearest one is kind of far away.

so... it seems like the best option right now is to shoplift... which i know is bad but it seems like there's no other way.
