I have to admit, homophobic ignoramuses really do provide the ultimate environment for homosexuals. The awkward, yet phony political politeness, the insults, the stares and frowning, the condemnations, etc, really do have my bf and I wanting each other even more by the end of the day. Its like the only place I'm comfortable and find peace in, is our rooms. Its like the further America's ignorant inhabitants pull away our magnetic love for one another, the harder and deeper our love grows for one another. Seriously! The second that bedroom door shuts, I pounce on him! All the hate, fear, guilt, and humility the religious conservatives spew out of their fat mouths completely leave our mindsets, and we can breathe. However, still not sure if America is the place for me anymore. Especially, if I want to raise a child some day . Thoughts?
FAG!! Nah, i'm kidding. If slander works for you then fair enough, although I am sure a world without homophobia would be even better. I do understand the thrill though, it's typical of anything in the world. Mum tells child not to put there hand on the hot stove, what happens?
Seeing both your skull pic and FAG!! took me back. Ohh, you still got to love them somehow though. I still have so much hope for mankind that I couldn't ever give up on those I still love. I agree. I've imagined a world where gay and str8 couples just took care of eachother and looked out for humanity. Really can happen, just probably not in our lifetime. Sooo what do I do? Stay in America and keep those awesome bedroom moments, or live somewhere I can actually breathe? I believe we only get one lifespan, so I value mine, and every other persons time spent here.
Goo call dude. Don't let the bastards grind you down. I mean, even if it wasn't stupidly frowned upon, keeping those intimate moments for the bedroom can give any relationship a sense of excitement that it would otherwise not have had the couple constantly embraced each other in any given situation. By the way, I was only joking with the fag thing. Not sure if you took offense or not and I didn't mean any. At this given time, I am probably just envious of your joy and affection for another, my love life has gone down the drain in the last few months!

Not at all. I knew you were just playing around. "Fag," to me seems like an easy way to abbreviate fabulous, and gay. Which I still find to exhibit happiness. I think all relationships, gay or straight can benefit from one another. Just like relationships of different cultural or ethnic descent can provide new insight within a love two people share with one another. I learn from all, and incorporate what I like into my relationship..though its hard at times. Thanks for the support man.
Hey, no problem. You are pretty lucky, not to mention very level headed. I've had friends how let this sort of thing just bring them down, and in fact this little conversation has opened my eyes up a little. People who are depressed about being 'gay bashed', really can find a peace and joy from the repression, as awful as it can be. It's certainly making the best of something and I like that.
In some sense, nothing solidifies the bonds among people better than a perceived threat. In a time and age when being gay was really not acceptable, people operated under vastly different circumstances and had every reason to work harder on their friendships and relationships. By that very same token, if you now turn your grindrr on, you'll find the next willing dude in the same block, so nothing is there to push you towards creating stronger bonds and more meaningful relationships. Yet, when all is said and done, it really boils down to the people involved. If you are looking for casual sex only, these are much better times. If you are looking for a more meaningful relationship, the absence of homophobia really works against you to some extent. KD
Only trouble is down the track you realise there's more than one reason they get angry, there is like a dozen. And half the time its nothing to do with you or gay. Sometimes it can be just as simple as you being a reminder the wife doesnt put out anymore
Not all of America has the same degree of intolerance. Here on Miami Beach we have quite a large number of gay men. Not that some of the hateful pigs haven't threatened gay men on SoBe recently. (Luckily the guy they ruffed up was on a 911 call and it was all recorded when they booked him on false arrest charges ) So yeah the haters are everywhere, but sometimes you can outnumber them like here in a metropolis. I think a presence of out ppl is helpful to show the bigots that we too are everywhere. When my 'buddy Raul comes over, I make a point of affectionately greeting him at the gate and my neighbors can just deal with it. Oh, and Raul is a screamer - just hope my neighbors don't think I'm killing the boy - but they know what we are up to. It was the same with my wife in an interracial relationship. If either of us saw some bigot's disapproving stare our codeword was "Kiss Me." And we would, right in their face. I think that's what I'd do if I were with another guy.
And just because America isn't tolerant doesn't mean other countries are. Sadly, homosexuals are still fighting for their rights worldwide. Don't forfeit your rights - stay here and make those bastards give them to you.
I had some lesbian friends in San Francisco in '59 or 60' and one night while shooting pool in the bar they in which they hung out---the cops came and arrested every woman that was wearing men's suits ,ties or anything that looked somewhat masculine!!! I couldn't believe it and fuckin near went to jail myself that night asking the morons why. I'm sure we have progressed from that BS.
We definitely have. So many groups tried to help that lesbian teenager in Mississippi. Multiple civil-rights groups like the ACLU, multiple special interest groups like the American Humanist Association, even New Orleans' mayor.
I don't see why so many people spend so much of their lives worrying about what goes on with others. Some folks are just very small,I guess.Does it never end?
^ I think, in most cases, it's cause they are scared that it will affect them - and that fear causes it to affect them mentally and/or emotionally. Other cases, I guess they just need somewhere to dispel their negative energy, and aren't very careful where they do it.
