man these were my favorite books in earlyish middle school. still up there in my list to this day. I reread them quite often. something about them is really easy to get yourself lost in. which is my favorite quality in a book.
I actually had to read them for a lit course in college and do a character analysis. They were really good books actually, I enjoyed them a lot.
Brilliant - children's story writing at its best...i.e. they're as enjoyable for adults as they are for children, complex yet at the heart, very simple!
