Michigan is a pretty hip place if youre on of those naturalist hippies, like myself. The forests are beautiful and great for camping. Theres tons of rivers to canoe and kayak down. And of course the lakes and fantastic fishing. Theres also a few decent music festivals in the state (peace fest, farm fest, rothbury) the only problem is, michigan is only hip during the summer time:( anyone else have anything especially "hip" that you enjoy to do in this lovely state of ours?

Bump! let's talk about this some more! since this thread has been made, I'm sure tere are things we can all add to this list. In Traverse City there is the new Microbrew and music festival that takes place every winter here's the link: http://www.porterhouseproductions.com/2011/12/19/2012-3rd-annual-traverse-city-winter-microbrew-music-festival/
there's usually some good bands playing there. There is a bar here called The Loading Dock and they get the hippest bands around here. One does have to get creative during the winter. Yesterday we walked across the ice to this little island in the west bay of Lake Michigan and ate some yummy treats :) and played around on the ice. next time I go I'll post some pics!

I was thinking about going to electric forest, the tickets are wicked expensive arent they? Like around 160 bucks?
