Has anyone heard Hillary say how people will be penalized who don't get healthcare under her system?

She stated it on Meet the Press.

Shows what roles she thinks Big govt should play in our lives. Very scary.

I'm trying to think of any other case where you are legally required to spend your money on a specific thing. I'm coming up blank.

Just another example of how socialism, which presents itself as being for the greater good of the people, is nothing more than veiled fascism to control and manage people. Of course Hillary wants to push mandatory state health care, and it's partly because she's in the pockets of the medical-industrial complex and stands a lot to gain from it. It also ties in at a much higher level, because now the government can more easily obtain personal information and collect DNA samples from everyone. It will also eliminate the choice of alternative treatments, and big-pharma and needless surgery will become the only options.

The government is not your daddy, folks. It's not your good shepherd.

Well if you're referring to drivers being required to have auto insurance. There are differences between auto and healthcare insurances. Auto insurance isn't universal because not everyone is required to have it only those who drive. With auto insurance you can buy a cheaper policy from an out of state company plus auto insurance can be more flexible as far as you being able to taylor some of your coverage.

I have no problem with socialism. I'm in favor of socialized medicine. We have plenty of socialized institutions that work pretty well-or at least a lot better than the alternative. You don't hear too many complaints about socialized fire departments, or libraries, or schools, but that's really what we have. We just don't use the term socialism because it's such a hot button for some people.

Given the number of countries that have socialised medicine, one has to wonder why they haven't gone fascist.

Right. I thought of auto insurance, but it is different. You don't have to have a car, so you don't have to have auto insurance.

you don't need health either. i just don't buy into another tax on the people via Hillary's mandatory health coverage. i really don't care what happens as long as the government stays off my back and out of my pocket. i don't need or want to be taken care of by the government all my life. if the government would stop trying to "fix" things, we'd be in better shape. there were non-profit hospitals at one time all over our nation and receiving health care wasn't so expensive. it's insurance companies and government that are partially responsible for escalating costs. we've added a lot more 'middle men' between the patients and the doctors and of course the price has gone up.

    yes, we do need health.

How odd to think that government is the only one who can supply us with good health. You want government to take care of us??? Maybe they can raise your babies from birth, tell you what to eat, what to do with your spare time, what music to listen to and where to work too...Because all this is, is more and more control over your life...Your health is your life, and basically Hillary wants to sign our health away, so it isn't even up to the individual to decide on how they want to cure themselves. It is becoming a system that is more and more managed by the rich corporations, who control the government.

Fact of the matter is, there are plenty of viable alternatives that will be silenced under her proposed system.

It should be up to the individual to take care of themselves and keep themselves healthy. No one should be forced to go under any plan, especially a "universal" one. Do your own reseearch, eat well...you know, common sense things. Now we need experts to tell us what we need. People can't even decide that stuff on their own, we need people to tell us what the remedy is these days.

There are no one size fits all cures, yet this is how the big pharmacuidical companies behave, giving us medicines which usually do more harm than good, with dangerous side effects. Any natural remedies not supproted by big pharma will be disapproved and ignored...In other words, what big pharma, who funds Hillary, does not push, will not even enter into the options people have to aid themselves in recovering from whatever is wrong.

Universal healthcare is a very limiting, overly controlled system that caters to the rich...We, the masses, take what they approve and give. Big pharma is a business. If they cure us, they do not get our money. They earn money by keeping us dependent on their medicine and label us with more and more insane disorders.

I am certian that the cures and remedies big pharma promote to the masses, WILL NOT be used by the ones promoting it from the top..how ironic.

I heard about this, she mentioned something about taking the money out of your wages if you refuse to get healthcare, what she ignores is that part of the reason people don't have healthcare is because they can't afford to pay for it, so her plan is just going to hurt these people even more while making the drug companies that she answers to filthy rich.

That's why Obama won't mandate healthcare and probably why he's currently winning the primaries. Also what about unemployed people without healthcare? They have no wages to garnish.

Of course we have to pay taxes. I was thinking of specific things that you have to buy with your after tax money, simply as a conditon of being alive.

of course we don't have to pay taxes. there's nothing in the Constitution or the many amendments stating that we must pay income taxes on our labor and there are a handful of people that have challenged this and won. treehuggerT don't take this the worng way please but open your eyes to what's going on in the world. the governement doesn't work for us anymore we work for them.
