i'm trying to decide about how i feel about them. i'm going to the theatre tonight with a friend, and am trying to pick shoes to go with my outfit. i have this really earthy-hippie looking pair of bohemian open-toe fake-leather-and-wood heels that looks good with the outfit. i've never worn them, they've actually been in my daughter's dress-up trunk since i bought them. they look great, but i'm fot sure how i feel about wearing heels. women: do you or would you ever wear heels? men: what do you think of women in heels? i don't wear makeup and when i go out i keep my legs covered because i don't shave. i have dreadlocks, and i barefoot, so even when they're clean and pampered my feet still look a little rough and dirty. would my natural style clash with high heeled shoes? (i can't barefoot in the theatre because they do have an appropriate attire policy, and even though i'm off the job and using my comp tickets tonight, i'm not going to push it because i do work there.) these shoes are barefootable - easy to kick off or slide on when entering or exiting a building, but i'm normally not a fan of shoes in general, so i've never thought about how i feel about high heels. are they hot and sexy? stupid-looking? oppressive to women? my ride's on her way so by the time anyone responds to this i probably will have made a decision and left. but, well, it's as random a thought as any, so i thought i'd post a poll.
hate em absolutely hate em think about just about every porn image out there..lol they maybe naked but almost every1 still has on what? high heels & always seems the faker the woman (silicon & plastic surgery) the higher the heels just wear a nice pair of sandles & be confy
I personally don't care for high heels on women. Plus, they're bad for your feet. I can't see why women wear them.
not just bad for your feet....has tons of other problems all the way up to causing muscle imbalances and posture problems
exactly what starts at the feet misalignes everything up to your head feet legs back neck all are forced out of allignment they are evil i laugh everytime i see some poor chick trying to be sexy & walking in those damn contraptions..lol its the whole bullshit model industry, making women think they havve to be over 6 foot to look good its bad enough they starve to try being that thin, now they screw up theyre backs trying to look tall too id rather have a short girl in birkenstocks anyday or barefoots even better
I say, do whatever the fuck you want. Heels can look nice. I don't wear them often myself as I have trouble enough finding normal shoes that fit comfortably (and, oh yeah, I'm already 6+ fuckin' feet tall). BUT I'm not going to stop anyone from wearing them, and if I find a pair that fits comfortably, I'd wear some in the future. I think it is silly when people are adamantly for OR against them; they're just shoes!
yea, just shoes haha, i dont' care if people wear them or not... i just dont' advocate wearing heels (or any other heel lift on any type of shoe for that matter) constantly
Right, I totally agree. Most heel-wearers I've known only really wear them for 'special occasions', so I think they're ok foot-health wise. Everything in moderation.
Thanks. Yeah, I've always been tall....that reminds me, I need to post this one pic of me and a classmate from when I was like 9 years old in your childhood pictures thread. It's funny.
I think that most heels look very polished and classy. I like to wear them, but damn, they are very uncomfortable...and whenever I DO wear them, I get so much shit from people because I'm already six feet tall barefoot and a bit of a tomboy. Anyway, yeah, I'll wear them for special occasions. Overall I think they're nice.
I got tired of my feet hurting at the end of the day. I got tired of turning my ankles. I stopped wearing high heels and went to flats. I have never regretted it.
I'm having a similar problem at the moment. In a few weeks' time I'm going to this Oxford university ball thingy that's really really fancy and I have no idea what shoes to wear. I own one pair of heels but they're ridicilously uncomfortable and I look so retarded when I try to walk on heels. I've been trying to find a pair of some dressy looking sandals but so far I haven't had any luck... booo. But they have a massive choco fountain in the ball so I am not missing it!
That's my favorite thing to wear... most of them still look dressy, but they are actually comfortable as well. I love them because of the height.... I have this thing that I feel really short... even though I'm 5'7".... I have a serious body complex I guess....
