Hi I'm kind of new to this whole forum thing even though i may be a 18 year old guy. I guess i should tell a little bit about myself, well first off im 18 years old, more of an old world if you will kind of person, a blacksmith at heart with 4 yrs experince a little bit of traditional woodworking and carpentry as well as modern courtesy of my father. Im someone who loves the back county. The reason i decided to join was after surfing through some of the alternate living communes threads and following a few links that were interesting and finding a few things but not to many, i thought i would try joining and posting and seeing what kind of things i could find by some more looking. If anyone has some ideas as to where to start im completely open to them. The gist of what im looking for is somewhere to homestead with a community of people who live off the grid and away from main stream society, stop living for the pay check and to stop living to bring more profit to someonelse then i will see in my life time, but instead work hard and get better at things from actually learning them instead of theories behind things. I want a chance to make a life for myself that isnt based on money and technology but instead by hard work. I think thats what im looking for in this confusing world but im not 100% sure. It sounds terrible im sure and im sure everyone goes through this at some point but im trying to find where i fit.
Welcome man! This doesn't sound horrible, it's exactly what happened in the 1960's. There is a section for communes, I don't really know of any off hand.
