Hey? Where are the two witnesses of Rev11?

Isn't it about time they started striking down all the evil doers of the world with horrible plagues and stuff?

11:1 A reed like a rod was given to me. Someone said, "Rise, and measure God's temple, and the altar, and those who worship in it.

11:2 Leave out the court which is outside of the temple, and don't measure it, for it has been given to the gentiles. They will tread the holy city under foot for forty-two months.

11:3 I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred sixty days, clothed in sackcloth."

11:4 These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands, standing before the Lord of the earth.

11:5 If anyone desires to harm them, fire proceeds out of their mouth and devours their enemies. If anyone desires to harm them, he must be killed in this way.

11:6 These have the power to shut up the sky, that it may not rain during the days of their prophecy. They have power over the waters, to turn them into blood, and to strike the earth with every plague, as often as they desire.

11:7 When they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up out of the abyss will make war with them, and overcome them, and kill them.

11:8 Their dead bodies will be in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.

11:9 From among the peoples, tribes, languages, and nations people will look at their dead bodies for three and a half days, and will not allow their dead bodies to be laid in a tomb.

11:10 Those who dwell on the earth rejoice over them, and they will be glad. They will give gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth.

11:11 After the three and a half days, the breath of life from God entered into them, and they stood on their feet. Great fear fell on those who saw them.

11:12 I heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, "Come up here!" They went up into heaven in the cloud, and their enemies saw them.

11:13 In that day there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified, and gave glory to the God of heaven.

11:14 The second woe is past. Behold, the third woe comes quickly.

11:15 The seventh angel sounded, and great voices in heaven followed, saying, "The kingdom of the world has become the Kingdom of our Lord, and of his Christ. He will reign forever and ever!"

11:16 The twenty-four elders, who sit on their thrones before God's throne, fell on their faces and worshiped God,

11:17 saying: "We give you thanks, Lord God, the Almighty, the one who is and who was; because you have taken your great power, and reigned.

11:18 The nations were angry, and your wrath came, as did the time for the dead to be judged, and to give your bondservants the prophets, their reward, as well as to the saints, and those who fear your name, to the small and the great; and to destroy those who destroy the earth."

11:19 God's temple that is in heaven was opened, and the ark of the Lord's covenant was seen in his temple. Lightnings, sounds, thunders, an earthquake, and great hail followed.

 

If you read and understood the prophecies you would know that the two witnesses come during the Tribulation which has now occured yet..

The two wittness's will not show up for awhile still. We are in the End of Days now, but they will not come for some time. They will show up in Isreal during the height of the Anti-Christ's power. They will speak out aganist him and he will try to destory them. They will be able to defeat many and not be harmed, but eventaully the anti-Christ will overcome them and kill them. It is then said that after they have been killed the world (followers of the Anti-Christ) will rejoice as the they lay dead in the street for 3 days. It is said that the "whole world" shall see them dead in the street and that many shall believe that the Word of God has been beaten and that man has defeated the Lord. Now it is only possible for the whole world to see an event like this in recent times. With Global TV, internet, and other communications the whole world will be able to see them dead. After three days the two will then raise from the dead and then raise up to heaven. The whole world will see this also and the followers of the Anti-Christ will be filled with fear for then they shall know that they can not defeat God and that for following the anti-christ they will suffer in Hell. After the two wittness's leave this world the downfall of the Anti-Christ and the climax of the Great Tribulation will begin. Ending with the return of the son of man to reclaim his kingdom.
The event of the 2 wittness will not happen until the ending half of the Great Tribulation. So no they will not be showing up any time to soon. We still have a few years before this event will come to pass.

I thought they introduced themselves right after the Rapture and shortly b4 the Antichrist is killed and rises again, which would be right in the middle of the tribulation wouldnt it.

 

They come sometime during the middle of the 7 year reign of the the antichrist.

i heard a story of a guy from like connecticut who many people think is one of the witnesses since no one has ever seen him up untill a few years ago, no one knows where he came from, and he has no records of his existence of any kind (birth certificate/security cards) and people say he can do miracles like heal sick.

 

Actually, they came to my cafe last night and ran out on a $20 ticket! Last seen heading down highway 36 east with the four horsemen of the apocalypse. I think they are on their way to the Anti-Christs'; his name is Bob, lives in Long Island, and has a lovely tenor singing voice.

 

OK....I was just kidding....but you know what I think, i think we only understand prophecy after it has been fulfilled, so all the speculation on Earth will only result in an ugly, age-old game of finger pointing and demonizing. Truth: Hold true to your beliefs that purify your heart and keep you in one-ness with Spirit. I would say this to anyone regardless of and-time scenarios or whatnot!
also wanted to mention: in my spiritual journeying I spent 3 years studying with the Jehovah Witnesses. In 1925, they actually had this big house built in California for the "Heros in Hebrews 11" but they had to show proper identification before moving into the premises! I found that rather enlightening to say the least

 

my belief is that all this came and went between 1844 and 1863 just like the menonites thought it would, they were just looking in the wrong place and in the wrong way.

spirit space in my perceptions does not begin and end with this either though.

i have not previously participated in this thread (if indeed i haven't, i didn't check and sometimes i do forget), precisely because chauvanistic beleifs are already getting more attention then they in any way honestly deserve
