i just started taking yaz birth control pills earlier this week; i started the day of my period instead of a sunday start, and according to proper instructions provided with the box, it says i should be good to go now, after my period and all. good to go meaning, my boyfriend can come inside of me; i know there is a very slight risk with any birth control, but my friend argues that i should wait a month or so before i even mess around with semen swimming around inside of me. can any of you ladies offer me some wisdom about this pill and my situation? i once took yaz when i was 18 and had my boyfriend at the time come inside of me, and i never experienced any kind of pregnancy...but perhaps i was just lucky? i guess really what my question is, is yaz as effective as it says it is as soon as it is taken for seven days? or should i wait a month or so to let my body settle into it as my friend says? i cannot afford to get pregnant at this point in my life, and if i've somehow been deceived by these instructions, i would love to know...
