HERE is why i hate affirmative action the WAY IT IS

i applied for a certain schlaship...your grades and service activities have to be above par. it also said that INCOME and RACE will effect it.


well, im friends with the black girl that got it. i love her. BUT her families income is HIGHER then mine and her grades LOWER then mine.



it's a good idea but.... if her family makes more and my grades are higher.. wtf?

call me racist, i dont care. SHE didnt call me racist when i spoated out to her.

Affirmitave action is racist, and it's not at all a good idea.

 

oh there is a heart of gold behind it. BUT she grew up in a good home and had worse grades yet she got it cause she is a minority. she wishes i got it.

it's a good idea.. in a way.. but in some ways, not good in practice.

 

I'm only gonna say that maybe activities and organizations affected the decision
















and I think affirmative action is necessary and the LEAST the government can do

 

But wouldn't agreeing with affirmitive action being like admitting inferiority? Like, do you really think you need special help because of your race? No offense, that's just what it seems to me...

actually, listen.. she was involved in no activities and i was.... i did 20 hours of community service per semister and she did nione... i love her to death.

but is it really far? her famliy is paying for her college. dan and i are paying for mine. he have no money.

in that way.. i dont see it as far.

This country was built on unpaid slave labor. Blacks are not inferior but I do consider them disenfranchised. I know nobody agrees with me but it goes deeper than people realize. Generations at a disadvantage does have an affect on the race today.

 

but what about the blacks families that have doctors and lawyers as parents and their kids still get advantages against white kids with a single parent that works two jobs and can barely survive?

that's where i see it as unfair.

like i said before...good concept. needs reforming.

You can think what you want, I actually deal with race everyday. We're on two different sides of it so naturally we aren't gonna see eye to eye.

But its my fault for two reasons: 1. I already know I can't be honest about race here and 2. I know that you and I don't like each other and the minute we don't agreed, you get ugly about it
