I have a question about the UV plugs (if any one knows what they are) if you don't they are like earrings here's a picture: OK, my question is where can you get them put in, because I want one (I think I'm going to get either a #0 or a #2 Gauge)? and all the piecing places I went to said they can't put those kind in... and how much do you think it would be to get it done? oh someone I was talking to that has one said that I should get it done to what ever size I want instead of stretching it (he said it's better and cheaper)...do you think I should get it done like that, or should I stretch it? and if I do start of small and streach it, what do I have to do, do I have to go back to the place and get it streached more...
dude you can get them scpualed in but then they are forever and the hole never shrinks. or you can strech them, slowly.....really................slowly My tunnelsare zero right now and I tried to guage up too fast and blew them out and had to let them heal up completely froma OOO to a 22gage peice of wire. but with streaching massageing and good hygine you can guage upevery 8 weeks and you can do big jumps with tapers! good luck but take your time your ears are forever.
So I can stretch them my self? like how much can I stretch it each time? how long would it take to get to either a #0 or a #2 Gauge? and what do you mean by stretching massageing?
Ok, first of all, you CAN stretch them yourself, but only for smaller guages, like from 14 to maybe an 8 or a 6. From then on, you should have a professional do it for you. With the smaller gauges, its probably a good idea to use steel hoops. They're heavier than acrylic plugs & will weigh down your lobe, making your holes bigger. Once you get to like an 8 you can start using plugs. By "massaging" he means playing around with your jewelry. After the swelling goes down from a previous stretching (a day or two) you can play with your jewelry by tugging or spinning, which will make the hole a little bigger. You can go larger as soon as 6-8 weeks between stretchings. Like the other poster said, you can have them scalpeled to a big size, but that involves serious cutting & they'll never go back to a smaller size if you ever choose to take them out. Once you have a good, professional piercer taper your holes (a taper is a long, cone-shaped tool that makes the holes bigger), it shouldn't cost more than $10 + jewelry. Jewelry comes in a whole range of prices, from acrylics that cost anywhere from $10-$20. You can also get stone or wood or ivory or metal. I have a pair of stone 6s that were $30 each. Right now I'm at a 2 & they are black wood with sparkly red star inserts that cost $40 each. Its really all about choice & a lot of piercing or tattoo shops have a wide range of plugs & often can custom order plugs in your size. Phew...okay...I hope that helps. If have ANY questions, feel free to post them or PM me. Good luck! xoxo cortnee
OK, I have 2 more questions... You said that they can go back to a smaller size if you ever choose to take them out, so like if I decide to take them out in like just say in ten years the hole will go small again? And what size do they make the hole the when they first do it? I'm trying to figure out how many times I need to stretch it...
Absolutely! If you stretch your lobes slowly (stretching too quickly can cause them to blow out & then you have to start all over), they will shrink back down to whatever gauge you want. As for your first stretching, its probably a good idea to start them yourself from regular holes (which are usually at a 16 or 18) & then when you go bigger, like to a 6 or a 4, you can have it professionally done. Most places won't jump a gauge so you'll have to go from 6 to 4 to 2 to 0, etc. Like I said, it usually takes about 6-8 weeks between stretchings, but it all really depends on your body & how you heal. You need to allow time for your lobes to heal up around the plug & become wider. xoxo cortnee
question... I had my left ear pierced for a very long time, but took it out about three years ago. If I want to get plugs, will I have to pierce my ear again, then let it heal, then get a plug? Or can I have someone pierce my ear and put the plug right in?
I live in Monmouth County, like right by the shore...where are you from? oh and thanks for the help....
