http://www.oldwillknottscales.com/jennings-jscale-jsvg20.aspx orrrr http://www.oldwillknottscales.com/proscale-gemological10.aspx http://www.rawtreasures.com/detail.asp?product_id=PROSCALE10 (Same scale, just cheaper.) EDIT: I also looked and the first scale only measures down to 2mg, while the other goes to 1mg, however the first scale is made to also be used in a lab, while the other is just for measuring gems, if that matters.
As far as I've seen - if you're looking for a good, dependable scale able to accurately measure down to 100th of a gram, you are probably looking at spending between $100-$200. The scales that are cheaper than a $100 say they can measure accurately below 100th of a gram, but don't seem to work very well.
For the ProScale 10, I saw some posts on here about it earlier saying it was decent for its price. I don't remember who posted it, but I believe it came up a few times. Mainly I wanted to see if anyone has dealt with the first scale. I know the better ones cost more, but I was hoping that one of those would work still.
no, don't buy any cheap ass scale such as that. They will break and are seriously not worth it. They aren't even that accurate. Blow the extra cash and get an acculab VIC http://balance.balances.com/scales/906/ you can find them cheaper I'm sure but if you are going to do it, do it right
It was Tanman35 http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?t=309967&highlight=proscale&f=126 There's the link. He said it's a great scale. I've actually been thinking about buying the same one. Hmm.
yea i still have that scale and have still had no problems and the scale has been very accurate as far as i can tell
Hm. I will probably buy that one then, as I see many people here are against it but haven't tried it and the ones who own the scale (Tanman) say it is good. I just think that if one works that costs $80 why spend over a hundred more to get one that will do the same thing?
I have that exact scale. When I first set it up and turn it on it drifts a little for five or ten minutes before I get +/- 1 mg precision. Anyone else get that?
