Find my self just eating bread when I'm stoned, anyone got any really good vegan recipies that are great for munchies?
    Natx

For non vegans try salad cream and hobnob sandwiches.... I know it sounds really weird but the tastes compliment each other really well!

    from the comfort food thread:
my special version of potatas bravas - fried potatoes covered with a sharp, spicy mayonnaise-chipoltle dressing, guacamole, chopped tomatoes and green onions. mmmmmmmm....it's my favourite.

also try sauteed chantarelle mushroom pie, or mushroom filo pastry pie (the papery pastry in spanikopita). i've never attempted this myself, but i can't see why it wouldn't be really good.

stirfries are always great. try weird stuff, like stirfried cabbage or lettuce. you'd be really surprised. i've had both and they're excellent.

grilled/roasted/bbq veggies. SO GOOD! my favourites: boil some new potatoes until just underdone, toss in olive oil, rock salt, herbs and garlic, and grill until crispy outside and soft inside. chop zucchini into rounds or ovals 3/4'' thick, marinate in balsamic vinegar and olive oil for 20 minutes and grill, pouring marinade overtop. sooo juicy with such a lovely texture. grilled sweet onions are really good, too. and portabella mushrooms are heavenly, marinated or plain. plus, you can make portabella burgers!

cereal. i like mini-wheats. also, in place of cereal, pour yourself a nice big bowl of frozen blueberries. stir in milk and sugar until it becomes a delightful wad of purple slush. this is one of my favourite things to eat.

smoothies with various ingredients. i like using frozen fruit in mine to make a slush.

lately i've been eating a lot of african lentil sludge. there are lots of recipes on the net, but just stick with red or brown lentils, onions, garlic, tomato paste, vegetable stock and lots of spices (cardamom, cumin, coriander, turmeric, cloves, ginger, chili peppers, black pepper).

mmmm and try making your own iced tea, too. i usually boil a pot of water, throw in a few different types of tea along with cardamom and mint leaves, add soymilk and maple syrup, let it simmer and then chill.

really, though, the best thing when you're stoned is to just mess around in the kitchen and create strange new foods. today i got really stoned and had a craving for MSG, so i made myself a soup. there was almost nothing to work with and i ended up making this soup with super thinly julienned carrot, thinly sliced red onion, chopped garlic and crudely chopped old iceberg lettuce with udon noodles and instant vegetable stock. and ya know, it wasn't half bad.

    god, i love food.

    oh and SALADS!
i'm a sucker for pasta salad. it's one of my favourite comfort foods. just chop up whatever's tasty and throw it in some salad, with some balsamic vinegar or a dijon-garlic vinaigrette dressing.
you can do this with potatoes, too.

greek salad is possibly one of my favourite things in the world. it's best on a really hot day. i wouldn't bother trying to use a vegan "feta," though. better to go without than to massacre your salad with some horrible soy chunks.

fruit salad is great. use pomegranates!

and another no-fail recipe: vegan chili. tomatoes, veggies (remember to add corn), and tvp. for an extra kick, throw in a bottle of dark stout and a few tablespoons of blackstrap molasses with the chipoltles. and for an extra-extra kick, mix in a lil' ganja butter just before serving. gets you SO stoned.

Mix salsa and tahini together. Put a chip in it. Put the chip in your mouth. Repeat until munchies go away.

My "comfort" food (aka munchies) is trail mix. We have a Whole Foods near here that has a bulk foods aisle with several different types of trail mix. I fell in love with nearly all of them today!

First I want to thank these other ideas, I learned some yummy munchie tips. I have a thought I think it would be cool to get "blazed" with my vegan friends ( I need to make some first) And eat our muchies together. We could all make our favorite munchie food. I think I have a good idea, I like my idea.

Last night when I was "blazed" I ate apple & cinnimon rice cakes, with creamy peanut butter and sugar free strawberry jelly = bomb.I say Heck yes.
I like tofu chocolate puddin. :)
I live my peace, and my love.
    I love my vegan friends
