there was a poem that i was forced to read in school many years ago that has stuck out in my mind. i cant remember how it goes or what its called, or who wrote it, and im hoping that one of you can help me identify it. it was short, and was about a young man who recently graduated (high school, i think) first in his class, did everything right, great student. but then, after graduating, he was faced with the "now what?" situation after realizing that he had been fulfilling other peoples wishes for his entire life. he becomes dissilusioned and walks into a lake, never to surface this poem has stuck in my mind for so many years, and i think it would be cool to see it again. its a long shot, but any ideas?
