I want to make a blanket/comforter for my bf for Christmas, and I figure I'd better get started now. I know I can probably just figure out how to do it and improvise here and there, but I was wondering if there was anyone out there who's made one and could give me any pointers? Thanks in advance
Cheap version: Go to thrift store and find old sheets/blankets that you like. Wash them (obviously). Using two sheets or two blankets, sew 3 sides together leaving top side open. Stuff boyfriends exsisting comforter or maybe even one you found at the thrift store into what is now a duvet and add buttons on top to close. Expensive version: Go to fabric store and purchase fabric that you like. Buy batting and any trimmings. Place batting between fabrics and sew them together. Decorate with trim or whatever you fancy.
ultra easy version: get wide fleece. cut to legth allow ends to roll, or cut enough legth to have fringe cut in it. Can be made with a colored band across or diagonal.
i made my bf a sweet blanket last year using super soft tee shirts (with nice designs) flannel, old sheets and all sortsa good things. anything you make him he will love, espescially blankets cuz you can wrap yourself up like a hug
