    Just a question.

Do you guys think we have more similarities or are there more differences between us, and do you even like us, ( I mean people in the states ). I think we here in the states think you and we are much alike, and we do like you, we have no nasty jokes about the Brits, none that I can think of anyway, we always pay alot of attention to what's going on over there, and I feel that we over here think we are much alike. Do you feel the same about us, or do you think we are to different from you. Just wondering.

    Stay cool

    Peace

go jump off the Fort Duquesne Bridge into the Allegheny..... yea bum...

Hi there silverhippy...... been meaning to bump you.. peace...

The Burg is much like the UK.. if thats what your getting at SH. I found the atmosphere there just like pgh. And unlike other cities in penn. I just cant discribe it.
much to do with the rivers and so much more could be done in the burg. to make it a thriving city. They tend to have the pub atmosphere going in the southside. but its way out of control with youth. I can see the city becoming like the Dam some how. And Dannys and Lukes trip to the Neatherlands got my attention... Lots of stir there you didnt hear in the media...

Pittsburgh is a friendly place, we actually get along with one another, unlike most of our cities, but I didn't mean is the U.K. like pittsburgh, I meant the two countries in general, and our two societies, and thanks for your feed back, and no no never the Allegheny, the Mon is more preferable.

    Peace

Don't know anything about the Mon flowing backwards but the Allegheny is far to common, the Mon is cool. We have three rivers here and at a point they all merge, so being the clever imaginative people that we are, we call that the point, very cool of us don't ya think. And Porky Chedwick, you seem to know alot about Pittsburgh, this tree you live in, might it be in Point Park ?

    Peace

pittsburgh is a really cool city. visited there myself a few years back. the guy my ex and i went to visit didnt' live in pittsburgh proper, but was a close enough drive. he took us to some sandwich shop where they put the fries and coleslaw on the sandwich (can't remember what the name of the place was, but sure you know it if you're from there).

enjoyed walking around seeing the markets and things, it was really cool. can't say i spent a ton of time in the city itself, but enjoyed the time i did spend there.

i'm from Western, NY myself; and the only difference is over here they think our accents sound nice (or take the piss out of us one of the two) and think they sound 'common' .. whereas back in the States it's the other way around isn't it. ;)

oh ... and the Brits don't seem to love guns quite so much ... which personally, i consider to be a good thing. :)

Ok, but I think we feel more connected to you than anybody else, we share a common language, well almost, we are still learning it, or what we don't like or just can't say right we just change it, and we have quite a bit of history together, we are also very interested in you, take your Royal Family it's like if one of them farts we have it all over the news, I think we are more than people on bits of land.

There are many Americans I like and lots of things I like about America. However I think British public opinion of America is much lower than American public opinion of Britain. I expect that has a lot to do with the actions of the Bush government and the attitudes of the religious-right. Intense religiousity and neo-conservative attitudes are not so prevalent here....

now this was many years ago when I took a trip to London and you all didnt have that London Eye thing then either.
That just has to be awesome to have that giant Farris Wheel in your town..
I have imagined that Eye Wheel up atop Mt Washington, how bouts you SH?
you know I feel the same vibe in Vancover BC like that of the burg..wonder if theres a connection.
Idk with the casinos coming along the river makes me wish I had a houseboat,
Id take it up the Thames and park it next to David Gilmores houseboat if I could get it to go that far..
Are houseboat popular in the UK?
