Hello one and all. I don't have too much to say about myself at the moment...umm...well I'm a musician and student (but I'll probably drop out of college soon...so...). I am obviously very into music, mainly older stuff from the 60s and 70s (and older) but also some newer stuff...I do however have quite a wide taste though. I live on a farm in the countryside and I wear glasses..and most think me eccentric...and they are probably righ!:jester: Favourite Bands and Musicians: Beatles, Abba, Queen, Byrds, Grateful Dead, REM, The Who, Pink Floyd, Turtles, Eagles, Jefferson Airplane, Thin Lizzy, Iron Maiden, Erasure, Zombies, Crosby, Stills, Nash (and Young), Traffic, Jimi Hendrix, Strauss, Vivaldi, Verdi, Tchaikovsky, Shumann, Shubert, Prokofiev, 10CC, Hollies, Ennio Morricone...and many many more.... Favourite Books: All Tolkien's books, Dracula, Beowulf, the Flashman books...and loads especially Mythology and History books. Peace Out!:H
Hello and welcome! I am hoping Patti Smith, the Ramon’s, Alice Cooper, Mott the Hoopla, Arrow Smith, BTO, the Monks, Johnny Winter, Marian Faithful, George Thorowgood, Norton Greenbon and Raffi are part of your favorite bands. Cheers!
Hi and welcome! You are so lucky living on a farm in the country. It's good to see that you're into classical musica as well as prog rock (which totally rules man!) and stuff. I looove pink Floyd and you gotta love Jimi Hendrix! I just read Dracula, it was really good. Peace to you my brother.
Some are, namely Alice Cooper, Aerosmith, Mott The Hoople, The Ramones. I haven't heard much by the Monks though they seem like a good band. I haven't heard much by Raffi but he seems great (from what I have seen/heard). I like Marianne Faithful as an actress (she was great as Ophelia alongside Nicol Williamson's Hamlet) but she is OK. I haven't heard of Norton Greenbon or George Thorowood so I cannot comment at this time. Good to meet you, man!
Yah, if it wasn't for classical (and of course my favourite sub-genre Romantic) there wouldn't be prog or rock...or most forms of music in my opinion...at least not as we know them. Yes I like them a lot...especially the Syd Barrett era. My favourite song is 'See Emily Play' followed by 'Arnold Layne'. Peace to you sister!:H Thanks to all of you for the welcome!
Hey, welcome to the boards! I'm Brie. I hope that you'll enjoy yourself here... It sounds like you have a lot in common with most people here (myself included).
