Heading to Toronto for spring break

Hey guys. My friends and I are going to Toronto here for spring break. We've never been there before but we've heard a lot about how cool of a city it is. Could anyone give us some suggestions as to what places to check out and possibly a good place (or area) to stay? We live in Ohio and we'll be driving up. We'll be bringing our Passports and we plan on doing some drinking and some smoking if we could. One of us is 20, rest of us are 19. Thanks for any advice!

well, your all legal drinking age at least, isn't it like 20 or 21 in the states?

19 is our legal drinking age, so don't worry about that. Stay away from Jarvis street, Rexdale and Jane & Finch. The TTC is an awesome way to get around, I think the adult fare is now about $2.50. Kensington market is a cool little hippie community, it's at Spadina and College. Theres a hostel there too for international visitors. Also go to Queen street, theres a lot of cool shops and activity there (our Canadian music station films on that street, which is right across the street from the best crepes of your life) The CN tower is cool, but expensive, and it's really no big deal once you're up there anyway. Glass floor, good view, it's over. The parks are really nice, we have cool bike trails. Don't be too overt when you're looking for pot, but we're all pretty lax about it up here. Just don't be a heatscore, go smoke in a private place and no one will bug you. Theres a really chill store in Kensington called 'Roach-o-Rama' and they're '420 friendly'. They also have amazing poetry readings and flavoured papers! Cool stuff.
