umm is it me or is there something wrong his suggestion? If i was you i would smoke a few hours after the funeral.

 

i dont know if it would be that good of an idea to go to a funeral all baked...i know if i did, i would get bad vibes and be really freaked out.

You could always smoke after the funeral, not like the funeral will last the whole day.

 

I'd def smoke after the funeral and if my mom were to catch me I'd say It was helping with my greiving

Smoking before the funeral isn't really any worse then every one else that gets liquored up before, durring and after the funeral. (or is that just my Family? bloody Irish)

 

Personally I reckon it'd be pretty disrespectful... Turning up to a funeral stoned is not cool.

 

It depends.... was the deceased person a stoner??? My best friend was killed in a car accident last year, but I saw him three days before he died after not being able to get in touch with him for like 5 months because his parents were keeping him on lock down. Jeffrey was a HUGE stoner, and despite being constantly hassled by his parents for not hiding his pot use AT ALL, he had just made this new little pipe out of a water bottle and he affectionately called it "Mini Me".... a name that his new girlfriend had bestowed upon this ghetto fabulous piece of equipment.... The point is, Jeffrey would have NEVER wanted us to be all sad and depressed at his funeral, so OF COURSE he would have LOVED it if we got baked!!! It was just out of respect for the dead man... honestly.... I also got a handle of bourbon to pour a lil' out for my homie... Just respect the probable wishes of the dead folk, and it'll all be good...

 

Yeah, same thing with me. I had a friend die from a car accident in January. She was a good stoner friend of mine so a couple of us smoked AT her funeral and while we were paying our respects I will always remember this one chick leaned in real close and just whispers, "Bev, I hope you get more weed in heaven than you ever did here!"

Potheads get such warped values. If you feel you have to smoke before a funeral then you smoke too much. Doubtless im going to get slagged off for saying that but some people on this board have really skewed perceptions of what's important.

People die all the time... it's a part of our life cycle, and whether or not you believe death is "the end," or perhaps a new beginning, the truth of the matter is that none of us really have any clue. I want people to party at my funeral fire and have a good time... For centuries people have been altering their state of mind at funerals throughout the world... whether it's smokin' up, drinking, or taking hallucinogenics is up to the spiritual community of the deceased to decide. Hell man, I wanna go ahead and build my coffin and use it to hotbox a few weeks before I die (if it's one of those slow, old people kinda deaths). I'm not gonna be buried in it at all, but it would be hilarious to use that as my hospital bed or whatever and then be burned on a funeral piar.

I have nothing against ganj, I've smoked for years. If you really can't see why going to a funeral stoned isn't cool then I'd be wasting my time trying to make you see my point.

I stand by what I said though. And I bet if we posted this thread anywhere other than the mj forums then 99% of the people would agree with me. Funerals are about paying last respects and saying goodbye. You can't pretend that turning up intoxicated is respectful. You can justify it to yourself all you want but the fact is that it's a really shitty thing to do.

People have been drinking etc AFTER funerals for centuries...

 

um get high then go to the funeral then after smoke again, looloo by the way when i die if im gonna be burried, i told my brother(god brother) that when i die if its b4 he does to put a baggie of weed with me and sumtin to smoke out of(pipe, j what ever).

 

man when i went to my uncles funeral, my parents were the only sober ones there. everyone was drunk and a couple of my cousins were high. looloo you needa take a step down off your high horse.
