Dangerous meaning having ideas that parents can villify as being harmful to children and use as a scapegoat, meaning that the reason society is in the pits and children are misbehaving isn't because parents are spending all their time getting pissed that kids are reading, of all things, but rather because they are exposed to J.K. Rowling's demonic imagery.

    He meant the shop, Dang!-'R'-Us.

Yes, Harry Potter is dangerous, because I tried 'Avada Kedavra' out on my housemate.

It didn't work so I stabbed him in the throat with a tomato knife instead.

LOL really don't see how it can be dangerous.

Actually heard they were a good thing, by reducing the amount of kids getting injured (if only on the day the books come out). They're busy reading rather than doing whatever they do that results in broken limbs.
It's also getting kids into reading, which is always wonderful.

Besides, aren't all the people trying to ban it a bunch of obsessive killjoy whackjobs, banging on about satan or something?
Just ignore them and they'll go away. Might want to take a look at their literature though. Think that may have done far more damage than a kids book.

As for that kid, well nice to see natural selection is still up and running.
