My dearest friends, I hope you have a beautiful, colourful Holi! Thank you BBB for sending me this one last year: Holi Raining Colours of Bhakti By Mirabai. The saffron of virtue and contentment Is dissolved in the water-gun of love and affection. Pink and red clouds of emotion are flying about, Limitless colors raining down. All the covers of the earthen vessel of my body are wide open; I have thrown away all shame before the world. Mira's Lord is the Mountain-Holder, the suave lover. I sacrifice myself in devotion to His lotus feet.
haha! HAPPY HOLI!!!!!! . its just too bad I can't celebrate it here in USA , but we can still eat alot of sweets!
In ISKCON, today is celebrated as Sri Gaura Purnima...the Appearance Day of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. I just returned from a parikrama...Gaura-Nitai deities were carried through the temple neighborhood to the accompaniment of kirtana with 200 or so participants...a very blissful occasion on a beautiful, cool, and clear evening. Big feast afterward, but I left early as I am watching my waistline. Hare Krishna, All Glories to Srila Prabhupada!
My friend and I are going to the Vedanta Centre tomorrow (today)...and the talk is about Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu...so I guess that explains that... lol.
