Hi everybody. We are having some cold weather, lots of rain and gloomy. Might get snow early next week. Depends on the perfect storm brewing out in the Atlantic.

 

Argh my computers died on me again, just as I was about to post led zepplins rain song! It's raining here too, ice cold rain! Pixie is attacking the raindrops on the window..

I'm gunna try and fix my computer, its completely gone though, no lights, nothing..meh.

I'm the light & the dark shadow I cast, is just my past!

Can anyone help me identify a stone/crystal please? I have pictures if anyone can. I was given it as a kid, always assumed it was rose quartz but it grew on a rock and is still on the rock. It just basically dissolved in its sea salt bath(first bath too, and changed colour almost completely), but the others didn't (they are definitely rose quartz because I bought them) and now I'm doubting what it is, and whatever it is I have ruined it !

First one is in the salt bath, I started noticing the colour going like a bright pink instead of the clear light pink it was before and the second picture is about an hour after when I looked back and realised half of it was dissolved and it went left a dark pink/orange stain. Bits of the crystally part are breaking off in my hands but the rock is fine...It was rough and spikey but now its mostly smooth

 

My best guess at this distance is halite or rock salt

A rock crystal that dissolves in water. Salt is a rock crystal. A rock. It dissolves in water. Very few other rocks will dissolve in water. Very few.
It's a very safe guess that it's salt. There is like one half of one percent chance that in might be something else. A few Other raw minerals could dissolve in water, but they're not clear type crystals, at all.

Halite is the mineral name. The name for the rock.

Experiment:
To see if it's salt crystal, put it on your tongue. Does it taste like SALT?
