Yeah, I know of it and the work it is doing. I'm rather ashamed to say I have never visited. I don't know about you but I think that when you live in a coutry/state or whatever you are never really aware of everything that is going on. It was the norm for us to visit other countries in our spare time rather than look to home! I'm actually returning to Scotland next year to walk the West Highland Way - something I could have done anytime but it never entered my mind. Weird eh? I was talking to a couple of Americans who had come all the way to Spain to walk the Camino de Santiago and it wasn't until they got here that they thought about the Appalachian Way and the like!
Dear Ranger,I'm sure my Mum's old man would love a call from Stevie Nicks, but I might have to give him a bit of prior warning first,I never know how he is going to react.Since My Mum died,Mick has been very lonely and upset, and I don't know quite how to communicate with him.If you could arrange something I'm sure he would be thrilled,if not a little bewildered.Keep me posted, and maybe we can work something out.
When Kenny and I were over there as curious as I was/am about their garden I got caught up in hanging with Sid Rawls and the Tipi Valley folk. Never made it to Scotland even though I seem to have distant kin there.
A different kind of "chill out" music... This is actually the kind of stuff that plays all day in the background here at home. I'm wanting to combine this kind of drumming with rock guitar actually. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6OW2lA-cWA"]Ancient Way https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAyJzVDCcbk"]Deep Earth Mix I know it's not 60's music, but it's something I want to work with in RL... If this place is where we learn about each other then this is a little glimpse of where my head is at much of the time... Another place is more like this acid drenched drone zone. I would probably combine the two in some way... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yu-8gQs1pEQ"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yu-8gQs1pEQ Anybody interested? .
since the weather isnt beach friendly i have to find something to do...i dont want the weekend to end and feel like i just sat in the HF as fun as that is.
I was just called a 'cool monk'....is this a compliment or an insult...extremely confused right now...
No idea, I think it was aimed at how I was carrying Lyla, in a front wrap cross carry using a bright orange stripey woven wrap, lol. I'm guessing monk that sits on a mountain meditating kind of monk, its the most interesting of all the comments ive had about babywearing. Nicer than the 'your child will never have a life and be attached to your hip until she is 30' I suppose!
I like percussion very much. I became especially aware of this after meeting my husband in late 1996. He has been a drummer since he was about 15. He started out in marching band, then drum corp, then set; after we met he started playing some different kinds of hand drums, too.
That's cool! There are some threads on the forum about "attachment parenting". I knew a chick who did it. It's very cool. I'd have done it with my two if I'd known about it.
Yeah, I've checked a few of them out. I love it, just don't like the stigma and comments that come along with it. 'you're spoiling her' 'she will be in your bed forever' 'she won't have any friends' Lol, I could go on all day, never get positive comments, so thanks
MamaPeace, Experience tells me that you can never love a child too much. Attachment parenting seems to be about loving. That makes it simple in my mind. There will always be critics, no matter what a person does. Listen to your intuition.
Aerianne, thank you it is really fun too, but also some of the things like babywearing and cloth/reuseable nappies become expensive addictions... I have a wrap worth more than a pram/stroller..!! But need a bit of a variety
