http://hipforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=461 Have a present. You wanted cardboard box, you got... carboard box. Recycled and unbleached, mo'fucka. James Edward Oglethorpe landed in Savannah, GA on February 12th, 1733, with colonists, to found the first debtor's colony in America....The grant included all the land between the Altamaha and Savannah Rivers and from the headwaters of these rivers to the south seas (wherever the hell the south seas are)... The charter prohibited trustees from making money on the venture. Oglethorpe used his connections to move the Charter for the colony of Georgia quickly to the king, who signed it on June 9 the previous year.. The truth is that he actually landed in South Carolina, but discovered the marshes around Savannah and the Savannah river would be a better area, for privacy and protection... so he turned around and had to go back to SC to pick them up again with Lord Percival. So theyyyyy noticed that Yamacraw Bluffs would be really good for protection, then they decided to sail 18 miles up the damn river and that's how Savannah, Jawjuh came about. Pecan country like catfish with grits Candy yams and chitlins Gram's homemade baked biscuits The land of classical Caprices and Impala super sports Ingredients in the peach cobbler called... Georgia I love the women out in L.A. And the shopping stores in New York The beaches in MIA But they ain't nothin like that GA red clay Look on your map, we right above Florida Next to Bama Under the Carolinas and Tennesse you'll see... (Yes, it's overplayed)
I knew you could do it. It really doesn't sound all too bad. I guess it just has to be done right with the right rice. I don't know if I'd just do plain white rice at all, but I know how you are for basmati and jasmine. Most people don't seem to get that specific with rice in this country. That's like having bread in Asia... where it's customary to eat pizza and things like that with a fork, but customary to eat rice with your hands and wash your hands before eating/burping afterwards. (At least in Bali and around Surabaya) Your salad will always be the shit.
Psh, you used those two kinds when I was there. (Or that may have been your mom's thing) My mom has like... seven types of rice from Uncle Ben's to the dankest wild flagons you'll ever lay eyes on, so we're chemists in the kitchen when anything ricey is about to go down.
wooooo i have decided that GA is alright, as long as you are up north in the mountains or down south by the beach... Here's to movin out of central GA Cheers, Georgia!
you guys should move somewhere else other then georgia that has a beach. Ya know, somewhere over west where you wont get completly fucked over if you have a bit of weed on ya, and where there is a better beach. im thinking somewhere around california, perhaps the bay area near san francisco or marin. Its where all the REALLY cool kids are ya know. But im sure your contempt about being loser
Haha, now you've got the hang of it. Hotlanta will eat you up anywhere else in the state, though I still have a place in my heart for Macon. Savannah... Brunswick... Jekyll... Dahlonega... St. Mary's Island Those are my favorite places.
I say yay to coastal GA. Super cool, and super historical. A lotta lotta cool stuff. I forget the name of the island but absically its a preserved african culture that has been there since slave trade days. There's no bridge (of course only tha major islands have bridges) only way out to it is tah get some local GA fisher boys to take you out in their boat. The people on the island weave baskets and all kinds of cool stuff, they've got their own little school and everything, they dont have most modern conveniences and keep it pretty natural. Also gotta give a big thumbs up to the northern region of the state. I love Vogel St. Park and blairesville. Dahlonega is nice but its gotten mega touristy. Still a super cool place though. Blairesville is really where its at though. There's so many waterfalls. Just these really really cool hidden waterfalls. My dad's side of the family is from there and he knows the area pretty well. Theres a set of trails that connects them all and some of them are so gorgeous its ridiculous. Not to mention its where the AT starts. Helen is pretty sweet too. Its set up to look like an oldschool German village. Its how all the buildings are and everything (even fast food joints) its pretty cool. They've got some sick mtn bike trails too. I've got two friends that broke their collar bones on those trails. They've got jsut the steepest, turny-est downhills and the inclines have the steepest incline I've ever attempted to pedal up. They host the SORBA nationals there every year. ehh I could babble about my favorite spots all night so I think I'll cut myself off here......
I've been to Wolf Island and Little Cumberland.. alot of the smaller islands, but I don't exactly remember which islands, since there's so many compared to SC and NC, once you get past the Savannah River, on around the gulf till you hit Texas. There's another one that's actually an inshore barrier island... but I know what you're talking about. Native American refugees from around the South formed an alliance with African runaways... which was what created the Seminole Nation, but there still are alot of people that live the Geechee (gullah if you're from the carolinas) way doing basketweaving and artisan work. Alot of them weave on plantations, these days, for a living, but a true geechee reed will usually run you over $100...
Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiit. I'm really crushin on the gulf coast, right now. (because I just noticed the background of my signature pic.. siesta key )
