There are six "Limiting Factors" envolved with growing cannabis - Light is just one of them. All six factors must be considered to grow healthy, potent, plants. If all six factors are provided at optimum levels you end up with a kick ass plant (up to it's potential)! Any one of the six factors can limit the plant's health/growth if it is lacking in some way.

These are the six Limiting Factors:
    1. Medium (what the roots grow into)
    2. Nutrients (what the plant uses to feed itself)
    3. Water (both the amount and quality)
    4. Atmosphere (plants "breath" too, they need air circulation)
    5. Light (the right spectrum, intensity and timing)
    6. Temperature (the plant needs to stay inside it's comfort zone)

If you master these six topics and understand how they work together you will be well on your way. Some growers are happy just to keep a plant alive. Some growers really put in the effort to grow fantastic plants - it's up to you!!!

Halogens are absolutely crap for growing MJ, very little watts per gram of bud efficiency, and almost entirely the wrong spectrum for a full grow. Your'e better off going for fluoros if you want cheap lighting, white for veg and warm for flower.
