What is the half life of THC and other cannabinoids?

Half life is the amount of time it takes for half of the chemical to break apart. I dont think i used the right word for this.... I think Half life only applies to elements???

THC has no half life, because the only elements regarded to have a half life are radio-active elements, Half life is the time is takes half the atoms in a radioactive substance to disinegrate

this is a stupid question anyways because half-life has no effect on how long somthing stays in your blood

this can be radioactive decay (isotope-halflife), decompositional decay, or in THIS case, either the halflife of thc presence in the body or halflife of active cannabinoids in the brain.

halflife in the body can be days to week/s.

activity halflife in the brain can be half an hour to an hour and a half or so if smoked

btw i believe the radioactive halflife refers to isotopic breakdown, but not elemental breakdown. ie, the halflife refers to how long it will tkae for the radiation to dissolve, not for the atoms to disintegrate

 

I dont care about the half life in the body... I mean the shelf life of THC or the other chems... I just want to know how long can i hold onto my bud untell the potency goes down... So does anyone have the answer?

Well it depends on a few things

A)Where your bud is stored

and

B)How your bud is stored

If you keep it in an area with UV rays, your bud will die very very quickly. Also, flourescent lights or regular lamps in your home play an important role in sucking the life force out of your bud.

Also, if it is stored in an area where air or moisture can get to it, that is another problem. Some people like to put their bud in a mason jar, a little glass bud jar with the cork stop, or humidors (things for cigars). I myself just keep my bud in a little box i've had for a long time. It's black so no light gets in, as well as being air tight.

You must keep in mind elements play a big part and deciding how long the elements last in your bud. It's elementary!

Thanks Reefer, I was already aware of those varibles. Im just wondernig how long the THC molecule can survive? Like is there anyway to firgure this out?... So i know when i have to smoke my whole stash....
