How long does the body stops depositing THC into hair follicles after you've smoked once in your life? Also, is there any difference between how long it stops depositing into body hair and the hair on your head? Yes, I know that assuming you never cut the hair it will always be there, but at what point (assuming a person has only smoked once in their life and stopped right after that, as I have), would a person be in the clear to shave their head and body and know that the hair that replaces it will not have any traces of THC? i.e. When does the body start growing "clean" hair versus THC hair after one time marijuana use, giving us the best time to cut it off? I've got a test coming up in the future but I have enough time to grow my hair out if I shave it all off, I'd like to have all my hair THC free by the time of the test but don't know when I should shave my body hair (except for eyebrows) and head hair knowing that the stuff that grows back from the root to tip will have no THC.
"Hair testing is quite accurate and can go back 6 months or longer, showing any controlled substances used in a sort of time-line. As hair grows out, any drugs used are encased in the hair shaft, so the longer the hair, the longer back in the individual's drug history the lab can detect. Most legitimate testing facilities, however, only use hair within about 3-5 cm of the scalp, and discard the rest. This limits the detection history to about 90 days, depending upon the rate of growth of the individual's hair." I'm not sure when your body will stop growing hair with THC in it, but if you only smoked once I wouldn't be too worried. How long ago did you smoke and when is the test?
