What's your favorite chord... mine is either Csus, Gsus4 or Abdim... Ab7#5 / G#7#5.... or the "john mayer E" - 076870 or ... hmm... also 002120
yea I myself enjoy playin in Am ......I play alot of Sublime music too...SO A and B come in handy.....
Yeah, I'm quite the addict... my favorite tuning is DADGAD, D Modal (aka the neil young modal)... Dropped D... it's so-so... but my favorite is D modal and DADGAD... and of course standard is pretty much standard hence the name standard. EADGBE. I'm selling my Martin D-35 and getting a Taylor 310ce L-3 LTD 30th anniversary limited edition. I don't like Taylors except for 12 strings and I picked the L-3 up for shits and giggles at the shop today, tuned it to DADGAD, and started playing Wheels (the song on my site) in DADGAD and it almost stopped my heart... I'm serious, that's one of the first times a guitar has ever done that to me... the first time was when I bought my first Gibson.
i got that feeling too, once. the first time i picked up an electric guitar, i played the beginning of The Man Who Sold the World, and i was like holy shit I have to have this guitar. i asked one of the guys at Dave's Guitar, the place i was at, and hes like "thats not for sale thats a private collector's". talk about being shot down.
Yeah... I know a few guys who only buy from Dave's. You know... I don't know if I'd sell my '60 les paul Reissue... hmm... I could always get a better one. But I like the one I have. It gets good Neil Young stuff because my 496R ceramic humbucker at the neck fades out on it's own because of a short and I started experimenting with it after I took the guitar apart and I flipped it upside down like some of those shredder type guitarists sometimes do. I found out if I push it up, I get these screechy sounds like Neil Young gets with his Gibson firebird pickup on his '53 Les Paul and if I push it down, it sounds like a hollowbody jazz guitar... sort of BB King/ES-345ish or Joe Pass/Wes Montgomery sounding. I roll back to 0 or 1 on the tone of the neck humbucker, push either a Vox or a Cry baby wah 1/4 way to the max and hit the Blues Combo (1962 Marshall Bluesbreaker) setting on my amp and it gets a woman tone. Kind of in between hendrix and clapton. But my favorite is always a 1954 or a 1955 Fender tweed deluxe... Neil Young's is a '59 but a '54 or '55 work just fine. He has a whizzer unit that controls the motrized knobs on his but on my amp it's all on board... plus I don't have that huge red foot controller like he has. I use a smaller one... but I've found my favorite electric effect to be this old Boss Flange Unit from the 60s... Neil uses one on Hey Hey, My My with a delay... he actually said that he used a homemade a delay unit back when he was in The Squires in Ontario in the 60s with either his first guitar... the Gibson Les Paul Special his mom bought him, or he used a Gretsch after he smashed the Les Paul. I think he threw it at his grandmother. He made the delay unit out of a funnel and PVC pipe and put it up to a mike and sent it back to an amp.... weird as shit. lmao. ~ George
was it not you who insulted me for using the term dollface before? and to the other person that wasnt very polite of you to call him that (i forgot your nickname)
