I just dont knw how som people grow our of it? For example my bestfriend now barely listens to metal and now goes clubin and listen to house music its all cool but to me its like it was more of a trend lookin at him now. I understand people like different types of music but to me metal conquers all! I like some house music dont get me wrong but am just dnt get it..... Hails and kill.
I recall I couldn't imagine this myself either. Some people that love the same thing as you for years and then get completely bored by it or something. I knew people dobble in and out of fases all the time and music tastes and opinions can change a lot in time but I could not imagine this happening to myself. Guess in the end I am just fasing too I now only dig the (subjective) highlights of metal and the rest can be completely ignored for my part I certainly am not a metalhead anymore, which you could not have told me when I was around 18 when I pretty much breathed metal
Maybe metal gets really boring. It's cool, occasionally. But nonstop metal is annoying, repetitive, boring, depressing, and induces headaches.
I don't agree, you just have to be in the mood for it. But when you're rarely in the mood for it and mainly confronted by it because other people listen it loud it is really annoying. Especially if it's lame metal, and no shortage of that unfortunately.
They know you're a baller when they see you riding by with shooter's muffs on to avoid bloody eardrums, and the lug nuts vibrating off of your wheels:afro:
I was a Metal head for about 4 years straight. Pretty much only metal and nothing else. I suppose my music tastes evolved and I now enjoy a bit of just about everything. Still enjoy metal every now and again, just not non stop like I used to
I guess I really grew out of some kinds of metal but I still enjoy my metal as well. Just not non stop like I used to as well hehe. Yes, our tastes has evolved for better or worse
Yes my metal tastes have evolved as well. I still love good metal! But now find myself listening to more classic rock and various revolutionary music. But continue despising that computer music shit as much as ever.
I went through an extensive classic rock phase after my metal phase too (mainly psych and blues rock, triggered by my previous and continuing hard rock interests of course). I also like some digital made music. I see no point in dismissing all 'computer music' as computer music shit.
Yes same with my rock interests! And I just can't seem to get into artificial music. It just seems so boring and soulless.
Meh. Technically all music is artificial And what's the big difference between an electric guitar sound being massively distorted like in metal music and a groovy digital rhythm? It's both manmade in the end. I can see where you come from if you listen to certain kinds of trance or techno (it sometimes almost sounds computergenerated) but it does not count for everything made on a computer. That being said I will always prefer analog above digital too, drums is a good example. But yeah, it doesn't mean digital has to be boring or soulless at all.
I just find true musicians put so much passion into their movements. Like a Dimebag solo, he just puts everything he possibly can into it. Throws out so much emotion. It's even more noticeable in classic rock, like Eric Clapton or Zeppelin. Yeah, maybe in some of those cases the sound coming out of the amp is partly artificial. But your still able to feel the emotion expressed through it. I can`t get that from computer generated songs.
It's not in everyone's blood. I know i'll never "grow out" of it though. I grew up on metal and it's stuck with me all these years. Doesn't mean I'm shut off from other types of music though. However, Metal is also a very diverse genre so I find it very hard for it to get boring.
I can only imagine someone "growing out" of metal, if their heart was truly never in that music in the first place. Since I got into metal, it is the music I predominantly listen to, but I've always liked many other types of music as well, and that hasn't changed. I know I'll love metal for as long as I'm living. As for electronic music, I can't stand dance/rave/trance music, it just seems soulless to me. Plus it gives me a headache. I do love a lot of video game music though!
