I am a bit of a stereotype and am afraid that I wont fit in here. 37, married (happily), father of 2 (love being a dad), Wall Street banker, living on the Upper East side of Manhattan. Grew up in a blue collar family in rural New England but went to an elite college. Always have voted Republican because I believe in small government where you have to take care of yourself, not be cared for. I also love to read. Nonfiction and fiction and I have a wide range. I try to avoid junk. So I stick with classic novels, well-reviewed current novels and nonfiction by writers with a good resume. 1-2 books weekly. I write some fiction but am a pretty harsh judge of my own work. I draw often, sketches mostly, but poorly. I enjoy reading a lot of the threads here and I like to think of myself as someone open to change. I prefer to disagree than agree, although respectfully, and can enjoy being proven wrong. I'm also open for adventure and have surprised many people in my life with "out of character" acts of impulse. Looking forward to being a member.
While i am not one who agrees with political parties, i do not believe that any one could just not fit in. If you believe in peace, love and justice, your perfect. Congradulations, souds to me like you have a happy family, which is one of my dreams, but now you have to families, welcome to ours. I do not believe that you are a stereotype, no one is. Stereotypes are forms of discrimination, you shoulc never put that on yourself. as far as standing out goes, well if you have had such an elite education i am sure you are well aware of emily Dickinson's peom, insanity is the divinest sense. Just be true to yourself, and it won't matter what anyone else ever thinks. XOXOBluBird
